I'm struggling with this review. I think the job to install a new water heater was a good job but... The job was finished Friday afternoon. The gentleman told me there was something wrong with the electrical and the water heater shouldn't be turned on and should be checked out by an electrician. I had to call Gwyn Monday morning to find out what was up. Electrician comes Monday late morning and says nothing is wrong, turns it on and it's been running ever since. So we went Friday to Monday without hot water...we had hot water before the repair. What was that all about? See the photo. That's all the stuff I pulled out of my crawl space. Why was it left? No, it was not there before. I wasn't given any paperwork or warranty for the water heater. I called Gwyn and was assured that I should have and she would check into it and I would get a call back. You guessed it...no call back, no paperwork, no warranty information. A really strange experience...not sure if I should recommend Gwyn.
I had a wonderful experience with Gwyn Electric Service. The technician, Kevin, was absolutely excellent! He was very patient, respectful, and took the time to explain everything clearly. His professionalism and positive attitude made the entire process smooth and stress-free. I truly appreciate the quality of service provided and would highly recommend Gwyn Electric Service—especially Kevin—to anyone in need of reliable electrical work.
I have an older house.... it has gas heat. In not feeling OK with the old system and everything I've found out since I bought this house in 2018 I decided to get the hvac replaced. Late August I started to get estimates and consultations I decided to get the heat fixed 1st. I wanted my heat to be str8 for the season change coming. All the estimates I got said the same things just different brands. I researched the brand they were going to use and all seemed well so i chose Gwyn. Their price was almost HALF the cost of the competition....I paid and installation was set for Sept 19th. 2 guys came. I saw them pull the old furnace out and bring the new one in. They were at my house about 4 hrs total. My mom passed in Sept so I kinda forgot about everything I had going on.... sometime in Oct I reached out to gwyn about my inspection for after installation. This is when I learned there was an issue with the permits. I attempted to reach the person I was provided contact info for from the city to no avail. I honestly forgot what happened but ultimately I ended up getting the gas turned back on. The gas company inspected and said they didn't think it would pass city inspection but it was all clear for leaks. I hadn't heard from anybody I had talked to at gwyn or anybody at all since late Oct. I started to notice changes in the way I felt and definitely noticed that I'm not staying warm like I was with the old system AND the fact that my nose has been leaking since I start using this new one! Fed up I finally went downtown to the city inspectors and found out what was going on with the permit situation. That was cleared up so I called gwyn jan 23 n 30th no call back or email. Finally on Feb 6th I got a call back after vm . Gwyn sent somebody out to inspect the same day. During that inspection I told n showed the guy how my nose was leaking since the install and heat running.... he said everything was gud. As he was leaving I asked about my filters and how often they should be changed in this new system. The guy went downstairs and when he came back up let me know he was glad I asked because my filter rack was not installed. That was installed on feb 12th. 2 different guys came... they were here almost 2 hours. After they were done they installed a wireless co2 detector I didn't get. They let me know I wasn't the only customer whom they had to fix after install from the other 2 guys. I also realized the co2 detectors the installers had n showed me they did not leave behind. My nose leaking has gotten a Lil better but still exsist!! Something is still not right!! BASICALLY I'VE BEEN BREATHING WHO KNOWS WHAT SINCE OCT!!! My body doesn't lie to me when something is not right. I already don't trust gas.... but I'm still not comfy. Sitting here now doing this review I'm FREEZING and the heat is on 67!! This has been a bad experience...I was hoping to get the same company to do all of my hvac work ♀️ DONT USE THEM!!! THEY DONT HAVE ANY ACCOUNTABILITY! I LOST ALL MY FOOD, UP 2K IN MED BILL FOR MY NOSE LEAKIN AND SYSTEM STILL AINT RIGHT! NOBODY HAS CHECKED ANYTHING!!! USE WHO U FAMILIAR WITH PAY THE COST THAT WAY!!! KEVIN TOLD ME THEY AINT UNPLUG MY FREEZER BUT THEY DID TO USE THE MACHINE THAT WAS USED ON EACH LEVEL. LIFE IS LYING RN MY STOCK IS GONE!!
Initial dealings with Gwyn services have been positive. Austin B. arrived at the promised time and diagnosed my a/c problem. He explained everything to me. I have also had dealings with Roger and he has been very good in answering my questions.
Technician Red Campbell did a superb job in replacing a broken switch in our dining room. He was proactive in procuring the replacement product and asking for our thoughts in advance on the kind of switch and plate that we wanted. The installation was handled quickly and with a clear explanation of the process involved. Red was professional and courteous. Highly recommend Gwyn!
Austin was on time, identified exactly what the problem was, and corrected the problem in a very efficient manner! He was very polite. He completed the work within an hour instead of the 2 hours allotted. He spent time with us explaining what the problem was and gave instructions on operating our thermostat. Excellent service!!!
Chester is a Master HVAC Technician. He is super knowledgeable and did tests I have never seen before. He is also friendly, efficient, prepared, polite, and great to talk to. Chester and Thomas of Gwyn Services are the two best HVAC Technicians I have ever come across. As a 74 year old man and former contractor and landlord I’ve seen and worked with hundreds of contractors, plumbers, electricians, and HVAC Techs. These are the best I’ve ever seen. Gwyn is far better than the company who installed my furnace!! All the other companies I’ve tried in Winston-Salem ripped me off. I never forget. Either great or horrible. Gwyn is great!!!
