Smithfield True Value Hardware

The cashier is just the nicest lady!!! NOT!! She is very salty to customers!! I told her good morning when I walked in and she looked at me as if I was from another planet. When I checked out she was disinterested in me as a customer. It’s very sad that she works in Smithfield and acts like she works in downtown Newport News!

Terrible customer service up front. The women at the cash registers are rude and unfriendly. I went in yesterday to return a defective spray nozzle that cost around $20. I had my receipt and there wasn't a line so it wasn't like she was busy. Not once did I get anything even remotely nice from the woman. Rude, abrupt, and visibly annoyed that I was bothering her. Absolutely unacceptable. I will never go back there again when there are places like Farmers Service (Ace Hardware ) close by.

Been coming here for years, the PRO’s are they usually have what you need in stock and the adult staff is knowledgeable about items they carry, the CON’s are it’s generally double the price of Lowe’s and lower quality products. My recommendation is to visit the local ace hardware and if they don’t have it make your way to true value. Generally ace carries the higher quality items but same price as true value, so at least you get what you pay for.

I’ve been here one time to get A showerhead and air filters spent $38 and some change that’s not the issue. When I’m getting rang up and use my card, the lady asked to see my card and then just so happens a week later I get another transaction from there for 16.35 and I’m assuming that’s because that’s all I had in my account that day because it was wiped clean.. Don’t go here. They will scam you.

Selection is fine but the customer service at checkout made me regret buying something here.

Taking advantage of customers. Selling fake snow shovels for $40 each is too much
