Update to 4 stars: Update to 1 star: Do not add moth balls to your generator, as the installer says. The installer told us to add the moth balls to prevent bugs from making nests in the generator. They [originally would] not send anyone to help get them out, just because they didn't actually put the moth balls there, only told us to add them. A couple of days later, they called back and offered to have someone come get them out. My husband managed to use a shop vac to get most of them that hadn't rolled under the machine. I do appreciate the offer. 🙂 Original review: I got an estimate from this store after getting connected to them through Costco, and on our own to SALT. This store had a MUCH more reasonable offer for the same generator. I'm very pleased overall! My generator setup and coaching day was very cool. The guy was very knowledgeable and there was so much to learn, but I feel like we're in great hands if we get lost! Jennifer kept us updated on the permitting from the city and on when our install days would be. I didn't have to lift a finger scheduling all of those people to come out to my house. One thing I would say is they're not as detailed as I was expecting in exactly when and what is going to happen in the emails letting me know I am confirmed for my install dates. I kind of just found out what hour they were going to show up when a day estimate was given, and what they were going to need from me. For example, I didn't know what the pipes would look like or that they needed my gutter downspouts removed at the ends, and which ones and how many, and then in the end, they removed the ones for me I didn't know needed removal. Also they said my 10% was due but I'm pretty sure they meant the last 90%. If the amount I paid was 10% of the total, that would mean my total install and purchase costed something like $100, 000! Instead of telling me how they came up with that number, they just said it was correct according to their records. Fine by me and I didn't want to delay the final setup, but please do better for the next person. Update: We finally had a couple of power outages and this kicked on automatically and worked! We still tried to conserve our power (turning off lights and don't use appliances other than the HVAC and keep the fridge running) so we didn't drive up the gas bill. It was really nice knowing we will be ok. Even our router would come back up and we would have internet every time the generator kicked back on.

After the 2021 week-long power outage where so many of our neighbors had massive damage from frozen pipes and burst pool equipment, and two more near misses since then, we decided it was time to install a generator for some peace-of-mind as this is going to be the new normal. We got several bids for a whole-house backup generator at the very end of last year, and decided to go through Costco and Generator Supercenter. The Generac 26kva natural-gas powered generator was finally installed in August -- not a fast process because of part delays and scheduling the city inspections, but we knew that going in up-front. Josh and Luke did a fantastic job installing the generator in the incredible August heat and despite being a complex installation with three separate smart switches to isolate different parts of the house, still got it done in one day. The power was off for just about 5 hours for the installation, and everything passed inspection the first time. The gas line work then took a little longer than we expected, but was done well and there were also no problems with the city inspections. Jackie and Molly did a great job of keeping us informed about the progress. Finally, Clayton, our service tech, handled the startup and "coaching" and answered all of our questions. We hope not to see too much of him, but have confidence that he can handle any issues that might come up. So happy this is done, and while I hope we don't need it (for everyone's sake), we feel like we're now ready for the next inevitable Snowmageddon.

Don’t let my "John Doe" moniker fool you. I am a real customer (Pete) that just had a 26kw Generac Home Generator installed by Generator Supercenter. I am a firm believer in leaving reviews for service providers, both good and bad, and in this case I must say that so far I am very pleased in my dealings with this company. Ralph was able to recommend the proper size generator that would handle all my circuit loads and pool pumps in the event of a power failure. He was quick to return my calls and answer all my questions as I was deliberating this purchase. Once committed, Molly scheduled the installation, and I was pleasantly surprised when she called to tell me she was able to accelerate the original install date by about six weeks. She kept me in the loop on the project as it got underway. The install was completed by Ray and Nick, who did a very professional job in placing the generator and electrical hook up panels in a manner that complemented the appearance of the exisiting incoming power panels. I was very much concerned on how the added conduit and panels would look, wanting to avoid a clutter of breaker panels, but Ray and Nick explained what their plan was for the install and addressed all my concerns. Josh then came out to do the generator activation and provided the start up tutorial. He was very helpful in explaining the features and operation of the generator, and provided his contact number for any follow-up questions I may have. Thanks to Generator Supercenter for a timely and professional installation of my Home Generator. I would certainly recommend them to anyone considering an alternate power source in the event of an outage. Pete P.

Every step of my experience with Generator Supercenter of Austin was outstanding. My initial contact with Ralph showed him to be extremely knowledgable about and patient with all my questions with absolutely no pressure to "close the sale." Once the decision was made, Erin handled all the logistics superbly. She remained in contestant contact before, during and after the installation. The technicians, Thomas and Dee, could not have been more professional. Their attention to detail was impressive as they went to great lengths to assure the appearance and performance of the final product was beyond reproach. I highly recommend Generator Supercenter of Austin and thank the entire team for a job very well done!

Josh and Collin completed our generator install on Monday and did a top-notch job. They took great care in their work, were thoughtful in checking with us on some install decisions, and thoroughly explained the system's operation. We couldn't feel more prepared for the upcoming storm season. The office noticed that the remote monitoring system hadn't come online as expected by today so they proactively called and had a technician stop by to resolve the issue. If this is the level of service we can expect going forward, we're happy to be Generator Supercenter of Austin customers and can't wait for our next power outage!
