I met with a Blue Raven Solar sales representative on 11/20/24. I was told I would get a solar system installed that would supply enough electricity to support my household. Instead of paying 500 a month for electricity, I will pay 400 a month for the solar panels. I was told they would be installed in January 2025. I was told my loan payment would stay the same as long as I put the money I get from the solar tax credit towards my loan at the end of the year. I have recently learned that I don't actually get any money back from the tax credit to put towards the loan. I was told my system would be energized a week to a week and a half after installation. My sales representative said he would explain everything and guide me every step of the way. Now he doesn't answer or return my calls. My system was installed 3/19/25. It is still not energized or turned on. Every time I was able to contact support in the last 5 months I was told a week to week and a half and my system will be energized. I also learned that I will be paying for my solar system AND electricity because my system will not produce enough electricity for my household. I am currently paying over $400 loan payments for the solar panels and paying $500 a month for electricity. My panels have been installed for 5 months already. I looked up the manufacturer's installation guidelines for the solar panels and BRS did not follow the manufacturer's guidelines for installation and that voids the warranty on my solar panels. I looked at the blueprints from BRS and they are not even installed correctly according to their own blueprints. The panels are supposed to be a minimum of 10 cm from the surface of the roof, they are not. There is supposed to be a minimum of 10 mm between panels for expansion, there is no gap. Panels are not properly supported. They are supposed to be supported with a minimum of 2 mounts on each side, I have multiple panels with one support on a side. Some panels are scratched and damaged. Jagged cuts on the skirtting. Sealant spilled on panels. On 7/30 I contacted BRS support regarding my issues with installation and they advised me to email quality control. I emailed quality control on 7/30. I called support 8/9 and they said wait the rest of the week and if I haven't heard back from quality control by the end of the week call back. On 8/14 I called support again and they contacted quality control and I was told I would have a response from quality control by the end of the day. I got an email later that day assuring me not to worry, everything is installed correctly, they will be sending a technician to add supports to the panels with 1 support on a side. I can clearly see that my solar panels are not properly installed and have voided warranties. I hope I can prevent this from happening to someone else that is willing to believe whatever a solar company tells them.
The crew was polite and hard working. My wife was comfortable serving them refreshments. The equipment looks like it’s ready to go. We can’t wait to see the effect of it on our energy bills.
The installation of our panels was surprisingly quiet and quick. We heard the drilling, naturally but the technicians went about their work without bothering us. They were extremely polite, professional and informative about their process. If they hadn't told us they were done and leaving, I would not have known they had ever been here. There was no mess! No concrete dust, no wood shavings, no wire remnants, nothing. They took ALL the trash from the installation. The only issue I had was, I couldn't go on the roof to look and see what the panels looked like! We are grateful and will recommend Blue Raven Solar to everyone. Thank you.
I got a call from them after filling out an online survey for solar feasibility. They were polite on the phone and offered to set up visit to have their contractor come over and give us options. I took the day off work for the visit. They didn't show. I called, and after being tossed around from one person to another, I was told they would look into it. I got a text message an hour later stating that the visit had been canceled due to the site being unfeasible. This is not professional. I had a separate company come out the same day and they said the site is feasible. One week later I got a call from Blue Raven asking me how my appointment went with the contractor. I informed them that it didn't happen and I question how they could be this disorganized. I would have thought the organization was a scam if not for other people having a positive experience. Mine, however, was overwhelmingly negative.
They were super nice to get everything installed but the panels don’t deliver as much energy as they say. I was told I needed 8 panels to meet my energy needs but I decided to go with 9. They also said I should meet my ROI within 2-3 years. After having them for a year I’ve earned under $100 and with how much each panel delivers, to meet my energy needs I would need 69 panels. Now I’m stuck earning less than $10 a month and paying $140 a month for the loan payment. I will need 2-3 lifetimes to get my money back from this. They keep saying it’s within their metrics to be working properly but I was clearly lied to in the process. I will spend the rest of my days telling people the lies this company told me and telling everyone to not go solar. Really it was blatant lies to get me to sign up and now I’m stuck and they refuse to acknowledge something could be wrong. It has been year long battle and in the end I just want properly working panels or for them to take it all back and refund my money.
These guys know what they are doing. Super friendly and were in and out in one day!
Avoid Blue Raven Solar like the plague. This has been hands down one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company. It took nearly a year to get my system energized because they kept trying to cut corners and ignore city inspection requirements. The inspector literally had to force them to fix things they should’ve done right the first time. They promised me a 90% energy offset—spoiler alert: that was a fantasy. The system drastically underdelivered, and I had to fight tooth and nail just to get them to add three more panels. That whole process took another three months before the system was re-energized. So basically, a year and some change to get what should've been done in a few weeks. Oh, and let’s talk money. They’re supposed to cover my solar payments for 18 months, but their checks are consistently late—and now they’re bouncing. Yep. Rubber checks. And to make matters worse, their parent company filed for bankruptcy. The whole operation is falling apart at the seams. Customer service? Completely useless. You’d get more help from a brick wall. They don’t return calls, don’t follow up, and frankly seem to not care at all once they’ve got your signature. If you’re even thinking about going solar with them—run the other way. There are better companies out there. Blue Raven is all talk and no follow-through. Save yourself the stress.
