American Auto Repair & A/C

This is a great repair shop. I have used them several times over the last year from air conditioning repair, axel repair and most recently to replace our car engine. Floyd and his team are great. Their prices are fair, the staff are friendly, fast and efficient. I would recmommend them to anyone.

So I waited 8 days until I decided to post this negative review about this shop. I came here to find out my Ac diagnosis will cost me $1800 to replace the compressor, or the other option is $650 to add freon. I rejected the diagnosis and cost of repairs because I didn't feel right about what Floyd was prescribing. Fast forward, the next day, I took my car to another AC repair shop locally, they charged me only $120 to evacuate the freon, refill and check all the lines for leakage and come to find out that I had no leak in my lines and the compressor was working and nothing was wrong with it. It's now the 7th day, and the AC is still Icy cold. No leaks and compressor is working. Bottom line, this shop is dishonest, and the reviews you see here do not match what I have experienced. I'm glad I found another honest local shop nearby and did not fall for this scam.

American Auto & AC is my go to for all my family’s cars. I highly recommend this place if your vehicle is out of dealer warranty and need some TLC. Good service and the prices are more than fair given the personable experience for repairs big and small. Floyd gets to know you and takes a practical approach to address each problem. He’ll get you back on the road and have money left for dinner!

I was driving from LA back home to the Bay. We were in Sherman Oaks when our A/C went out so I told my wife to look for a shop in the Santa Clarita area. She found this shop that had reviews of this shop being very honest and of course very happy customers. Floyd got my A/C blowing cold again and it was more than just a recharge that was needed for my A/C. He noticed my battery had died while he was working on it so he charged my battery and changed my much needed cabin filter replacement. I had no idea that changing out my cabin filter would give me more gas mileage. It went from 265 miles distance to empty to 385 miles after he serviced my vehicle. If that not what did it then I don’t know what else did. For 2 years I’ve noticed my mileage went from almost 400 miles at full tank to 285 miles. Whatever he did I’m back to 400 miles on a full tank. I’ve serviced my vehicles at other shops and told them about it and they just said, those things are never accurate. I’m a very satisfied customer and if I didn’t live so far this would be my mechanic.

I've been having AC problems with my 2017 Ford Mustang GT and finally found a dependable and hard-working shop. They charged the same price for the work as another shop charged me just for a diagnosis. It's hard finding a good mechanic to trust with your car, but Floyd and Adrian were great. Adrian opened up the shop punctually at 8am, while Floyd called me later that day to explain in great detail what was going on and what my options were. I was able to drive home with cold AC in this summer heat and couldn't be happier. Floyd even asked me to bring the car back in 4 weeks just to check that everything is still working. That is A+ customer service in my books. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone experiencing car issues as this shop has some great personalities, gets quality work done fast, and charges a reasonable price.

They were able to fix my AC and diagnose other problems I wasn't even aware of. They were efficient, and courteous with my time. The prices are fair and the work they do is great. They make sure to give your vehicle a thorough inspection, if it wasn't for their careful attention to detail, I wouldn't have known that I needed the struts replaced on my vehicle--that it wasn't just a tire alignment but another underlying issue! Fortunately, they were able to replace the parts in a day. Thanks!
