Sportsman's Warehouse has a rating of 4.1 out of 5 based on over 2406 reviews on Google
We went to buy a firearm from Sportsman’s thinking we knew what we wanted— something small and for protection. We connected with Lance, who works at the gun counter, and he was a total freaking angel. He showed us what we thought we wanted and then patiently suggested a few other options that ended up being a better fit. He’s extremely knowledgeable, easy to talk to, has a super contagious smile, and made us feel so comfortable for what could have been an anxiety inducing purchase! Absolutely adore him and will definitely recommend this location for gun connoisseurs!! 10/10 experience
I mostly only purchase firearms and ammo from sportsmans but I've always had good experiences. They have a real decent selection and most of what I want is either ready for pickup same day or next day. They're prices on guns themselves are typically the same if not lower the bass pro down the street but ammo prices are much better(14.99 for 9mm at bass pro 10.99 at sportsmans) sportsmans is by far my favorite sporting goods store in ABQ and has been for a long time. Firearm counter waits are also better then bass pro(but still not excatly fast)
I’m not a guy that leaves reviews, but this might be the worse experience I’ve ever had in a retail store. I order a fishing pole and some line online early in the day so I can just stop by and pick it up after work. Online it specifically says SAME DAY pickup if ordered before 4pm. Awesome, I ordered at noon. I get my confirmation email. I never get a confirmation it’s ready. That’s fine things happen, people get busy, sometimes stores are short handed. I figured I can just stop by and find the items I’m looking for and get them. I already payed. I find the items, and ask a worker walking by if I can do this, he says I have to go to customer service. I go to customer service and ask an associate if I can just get the items I already payed for and bring them up there and get my receipt. The lady was looking at me like I was a stranger in her house uninvited. She tells me I have to pay for it again and then cancel my online order???? Why would I have to do that? Tells me I have to call a 1-800 #?? I’m upset, but I figure I’ll just buy my fishing license while I’m there and just pick my stuff up the next day. While I’m waiting in line the lady who looked at me like I wasn’t supposed to be in this store tells me from behind the counter that there’s some guy that can help me, she points at him, the guy looks at me side eyed and starts walking away? I said hey sir, and he finally turns around. Tell him the situation and he says he can’t help me lmao. Do these people hate this place? On top of all this, the rod and reel I bought online is $15 dollars LESS in store. Charged me 165 online and the price tag is 149.99. I mean these people are annoyed that customers are in their store. Sometimes people are having a bad day, I get it, but man these people made me feel like my attempt to purchase something is a going to put them out of business.
This is not a reflection on the store, its employees, or its prices, but only on the online shop and in-store pickup process. I purchased a sight for my gun online, and when I went to pick it up, I still had to wait in line, which defeated the purpose of ordering ahead to make it quick and easy. I think it would be helpful to have a dedicated section for store pickup, like other stores do.
My wife and I were shopping at the 1450 N Renaissance location when an employee approached us accusing my wife of putting something in her purse. She never had a purse entering the store and never had anything that looked like a purse in her possession while in the store. Needless to say, at a store I've spent thousands of $$ at over the years this experience ruined it. May be theft is high here, but make sure your employees aren't just accusing anyone and everyone of stealing. Both of us were wearing church going outfits and are well groomed. Its very odd they came up to us in this manner.
Had a terrible experience this morning Showed up 10 AM ready to buy a firearm. Absolutely no one in the store. I took my time looking. I don’t mind when I’m not greeted with anything but when I sit there for 20 minutes waiting for help and being ignored because I don’t look like a person who should be purchasing a firearm. I have an issue. So to the people that ignored me when I said good morning at the front desk and have a great day Leaving. You just missed out on a $3000 purchase and I will not be coming back to this amazing Sportsman’s Warehouse with that attitude
Ordered online a little after 1, never received a email saying it was ready, took me to call the store this was around 6 something, after on the phone for 6+min was told it wasn’t ready and they are barely working on it now. To come by in 1 hour. When store almost closed. If I hadn’t called my order would have probably never been ready for pickup. Workers all huddled up in a corner never greeted looking miserable. Will not recommend this place go to Bass Pro Shop 100x better customer service!
