Academy Sports + Outdoors

Rode in to grab a few shirts for work. They had my size but not my wife's size in the color she needed. However gotta make due when you travel. Still was able to get what we needed. Shirts were on sale which is a plus and the cashier was a big help on letting us now about the buy 1 get 1 50% off. One of the cleanest stores I've seen!

They always have what we need when it comes to sport, outdoors or guns and ammo. The staff is always friendly and helpful there too. We'll go there off because my kids play a lot of variety of sports

Store was so messy i couldn't get no one to help me find a item.... Everything seemed ransacked.. Not organized very well... Super expensive as well.. It's better to purchase online.... Waste one hour looking for an item.. Super messy store dirty everywhere..... That's just my experience.. I think because im Mexican. No one would help me..that's how it felt..

We had ordered a treadmill online and picked it up curbside pickup. When we got home we started to unbox and set it up the hardware was all over the box not organized it looked like it was used. We went back to the store to return and get it replaced the girl at the counter said you guys can go and get another one. For one we didn’t know where they were stored at she just said you can find them at the fitness area. When we went to go look we could not find it. So we went back to the counter and when we told them we could not find them they seemed bothered that they had to help us find them. Overall HORRIBLE experience. I understand they are busy but that is not a way to treat customers.

I can always rely on Academy for sneakers in my size and for fabulous customer service. Kudos to one of the girls working in the shoe section on 3.13.2025 for going out of her way to make sure the style of sneakers I wanted was available for me

I do not shop at Academy often, but have always found the store to be clean, friendly knowledgeable staff and the items represented appropriately.

Purchased a firearm through the online system. Entered an address that didn’t match my ID card. I then told the employees that that was where I received my mail. They then asked my residential address. I told them what it on my ID is my residential but I also own and apartment that I live at sometimes. They then refused to sell me the firearm, refused to cancel the order until I was on the phone with the corporate office for 20 minutes before the guy behind the counter named "Sam" proceeded to tell me that the manager all the sudden "canceled" the order. I then spoke to corporate Academy and they said as long as I confirmed my address was the residential address I should have been able to purchase the firearm. The last time I purchased a firearm I had no issues like this. Of course new people in here everytime I come in. Terrible customer service and lack of leadership. The manager refused to cancel the order until I was about to get her boss on the line then it’s magically cancelled while on the phone with customer support. This academy has gone down hill. That’s why I use local places to purchase all my new firearms. Trash store, trash customer service. Refusing to sell me something I paid for already because of an address on an online order. The lady on the customer support line was more than helpful though and she told me it’s not standard procedure to not sell you the firearm if the address doesn’t match your ID on the online order. She says if you confirm your address is your residential (which it is) then they can sell it to you. They apparently aren’t familiar with people who live and rent multiple properties. Sam was honestly the most boring unsatisfactory customer service person I’ve ever dealt with. And I work sales.
