I'm very dissapointed - I started with paying $72 and was only planing to stay until end of July. When I wanted to move out the elevator was broken, I was told to use the stairs(my unit being on the 3rd floor). August the price changed to $120 ( I did not know about the price change ) Anyway I used the stairs but could not remove everything as some items were big and heavy and I really needed the elevator - I almost fell twice going down the stairs. When I called and spoke to management they didn't care and I was told they waiting for a part from over seas. Anyway waited for 3 months and the elevator still not working, I end up paying for 2 people to help me take the few things in my unit down the stairs. I'm very dissapointed that I was stuck for 3 months and on top of that the fees were raised. I did ask for discount for the inconvenience as the elevator was broken and that i was stuck not being able to remove my stuff- but hey no one cared. On the plus side the guys in the office were friendly and nice. I feel management can do a better job. I called and was told the manager would call me but never did, I messaged them and still did not hear back. Main point: make sure you on the main level so you don't need the elevator. Also double check the price- find out if it will get raised and when and by how much - this was my first experiance getting a storage unit.

Michael and Uriel were so nice to me when I needed storage right away. They explained that the elevator was broken, but got me a nice storage unit on the first floor so it was easy to access. They really helped me when I needed it, thank you for their excellent customer service!

I’ve been here about 4 months and the elevator has been out for four months. No communication, no updates, emails all go unanswered. Been paying full price for a service that doesn’t exist. Staircase is steep and the only option to use. I want to move out but can’t carry heavy equipment down the stairs. **update: I got an AI emailed response to email upper management. I did, but have not received any answer from them. Since then, I also got a notice that the rate for renting will increase in December. All while THE ELEVATOR STILL DOES NOT WORK

HORRIBLE Experience! Elevator Broken - Zero Help, Cost Me Hundreds! I am absolutely furious and need to warn everyone about this place. I stored my belongings here for three months. Yesterday, I arrived with my moving truck and crew, all scheduled and paid for, only to be told the elevator was broken and I couldn't access my unit. My entire moving plan was completely derailed. For days, I called every single day asking for an update. The staff's response was always the same useless, robotic answer: "It's not fixed yet." They offered NO solutions, NO apologies, and certainly NO compensation for completely ruining my plans. This wasn't just an inconvenience; it was a crisis. Because I couldn't move my stuff, I couldn't move into my new home. I had nowhere to sleep! On the fourth day, I was finally told the elevator wouldn't be fixed until NEXT WEEK. Here's the kicker: they informed me that if my stuff wasn't out by the 1st, they would charge me nearly $200 for the next month! So, through absolutely no fault of my own, I was facing financial penalties for their facility's failure. Left with no choice and in a desperate situation, I was forced to cancel my original movers and hire a last-minute, exorbitantly expensive crew for a different date. This elevator disaster directly cost me hundreds of extra dollars in moving fees, on top of the immense stress of being essentially homeless for several days. Their complete lack of empathy, failure to provide any emergency solutions, and willingness to charge customers for their own maintenance failures is unacceptable. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE unless you want to risk your belongings being held hostage by a broken elevator and incompetent management.

Do NOT rent with Secure Space! I scheduled my move with professional movers, paid thousands of dollars in advance (over $4,000), and showed up ready to move into my unit — only to find out the only elevator was out of service. There was no communication in advance, no heads-up, nothing. The response I received was a casual "we’re sorry." Sorry does not cover the cost I’ve already paid. Sorry does not move my furniture. Sorry does not give me an estimate of when the elevator will be working again. Because of this, the only option was to bring everything down narrow, unsafe stairs — which of course meant paying movers even more money. Who is going to reimburse me for that? Secure Space should be held fully responsible for these extra costs. This experience has left me without access to my own home and belongings, with no timeline for resolution, and no accountability from management. Unacceptable. DO NOT RENT HERE

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE. The only nice thing I can say about this place is that the lady on the phone taking reservations and collecting the money was personable, and the staff are doing their best with a bad situation. Everything else was subpar. I reserved three units in advance to store all of my belongings, and since it was highly rated on Google, I didn't think to go to visit. When I arrived with full moving trucks and crew of movers being paid by the hour, I was disappointed to find that SecureSpace was entirely unsuitable to store anything of value. First, it was blazing hot inside. There was no climate control, which made me very concerned about potential damage to electronics. More alarmingly, the single elevator took nearly 10 minutes to ascend three floors to my units (more than one group was trying to use it). Even if I had arrived when they first opened at 9AM, it would have been impossible for me to unload everything before their 6PM closing time, (which are pretty limited hours for a storage facility). I had to come up with an alternative quickly (see my review for Mini U Storage on Swann Ave) and cancel my leases with SecureStorage. Since I never occupied the units and the office staff explained I would see a refund in a few business days, I thought my business with them was over. However, three weeks later, I still hadn't received my money back. I had to go back down there in person, where the staff explained that they had other priorities with their facility, and they hadn't gotten around to their admin tasks yet. This is a wild, but understandable explanation given the condition of their facilities and how convoluted their systems are (it took me more than 10 minutes to sign one lease after going through their biometric signature process!!!). To their credit, they did process the refund after that visit. All said, I am grateful that I didn't end up storing anything there. Also, I think I've solved the mystery of the high Google ratings -- they seem to be under new management, but got to keep the ratings from the old owners and previous condition of the building. Hope this gives a more current idea of what you can expect if you ignore my warning and rent there anyway.

After getting set up by BJ, I was able to get everything taken care of at a great price and stashed quickly. The elevator is beefy and able to handle the heaviest widest loads. The space is generally conditioned and it was nice to come in from the heat. There’s lots of carts to use and typically enough room at the loading dock. All said - best storage deal around.
