Really unfortunate that every single time I’ve ever had to be at Boston Medical Center I’m unable to even use the Bathrooms, not once. Every single stall is littered with bloody toilet paper, there is literal poop smeared on the toilet seat, every stall. When you visit your loved ones who have to stay here, or have appointments frequently it’s completely infuriating that you are made to walk into a bathroom that’s quite literally so filthy you feel like you’ll catch something using it. This isn’t a situation where you can hover over the toilet seat, or line the toilet seat with paper towel. It doesn’t even matter that there is no toilet paper ever stocked because I refuse to use a bathroom that looks like this EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. this isn’t just one bathroom either, it’s every single one you go into. Sad, disgusting and BMC should be embarrassed to be honest it’s just so frustrating especially having to be there so frequently and having to deal with this every time. BMC do better.

Nurse Angela is very pleasant, patient and attentive. I must say she does her job very well. Now on the other hand, the operators for BMC are absolutely egregious. The substandard interactions I’ve experienced with them have exacerbated me. I think it’s important that those calls be monitored for qc more frequently.

My grandma is currently hospitalized at BMC after a fall. She has received truly exceptional care. The CCU team is incredible, specifically but not limited to Julia, Kelly, Hannah (SICU float RN), Turp, Tim x2 (ICU float RN), Dr. Wu (Cardiology), and Dr. Rome (palliative care). Everyone we’ve encountered has been professional, knowledgeable, and empathetic. as a healthcare provider myself, I’ve been so impressed with this team. Thank you BMC for going above and beyond.

What an absolute disaster, this place. It's consistently filthy (I once stood in line waiting to check out and realized I was standing on what looked like a peed pad that was soaking up the blood beneath it) and the customer service is abysmal. The most frequent answer I've gotten to questions I've asked folks from medical records to billing is "I don't know about that, so I can't say." No one takes responsibility for anything. With so many amazing healthcare facilities in this city, why anyone would choose to go to BMC is beyond me.

Do not come here for ultrasounds under any circumstance if you are expecting a support person. My partner wanted me to accompany her to the ultrasound as she was nervous about the procedure and wanted me there for emotional support as well as help with any questions. They denied her request, saying their policy didn’t permit any visitors in the exam room, and were unwilling to accommodate her request. It made her very uncomfortable and nervous and there really didn’t seem to be a good reason behind this policy, or to give us an exception. Medicine should strive to put patients at ease and reasonably accommodate requests — going into a hospital is already troubling and nerve wracking enough. We won’t be coming back

My experience at this hospital, specifically on the ultrasound floor, was terrible. The staff who attended to my sister showed completely inappropriate behavior: they were rude, unprofessional, and displayed an unacceptable level of customer service. Instead of offering support and kindness during such an important moment, they showed a total lack of respect and empathy. A healthcare facility should treat people with dignity and compassion, but unfortunately, that was completely missing here. I would not recommend this place, and I hope management takes action so other patients don’t have to go through the same experience.

Least caring staff and rudest most dangerous staff I've ever met. They don't watch the saline bag they force you to restart it alone until it blows your vein because they don't want to watch you. Iypu get yelled at no matter what as a patient or visitor following strange rules. I have never felt more lost, unsupported, and unsafe in a medical environment than here and been forced to be alone through everything. I've never hated anywhere so much. I will be writing a formal complaint with the state of MA for my care as the patient advocate denied me my rights listed in the patient bill of rights over and over again.
