Customer Reviews

I’ve always had positive experiences at Hobby Lobby—kind staff, helpful service, and a welcoming atmosphere. But this particular location was the complete opposite. My visit on Monday, September 1, 2025, between 11:00 and 11:40 AM was genuinely disappointing—not only because of a lack of help, but because of the downright rude and dismissive attitudes of several employees. First, a male employee in the back section gave us vague directions—pointing us in the completely wrong direction with no effort to guide us or clarify where to go. It was clear he put more focus on whatever he was tasked with. Then I approached another employee to ask a simple question, and she cut me off mid-sentence with, "No, sorry, I’m not clocked in," and just walked away. No attempt to redirect me to someone else, no "please give me a moment to clock in," instead. Just cold and completely uninterested. A basic level of professionalism would’ve gone a long way here—but instead, I was met with an attitude that said, "Not my problem." Next, in the fabric aisle, another woman responded to my question with the same lack of energy and interest. She vaguely waved in a general direction, and said, "I think it’s over there." At this point, it felt like a pattern—no one wanted to be helpful, and they didn’t even pretend to try. Honestly, the attitude from some of these employees came off as snobby and annoyed, like customers were inconveniencing them just by being there. As we approached checkout, I saw a cashier opening a new register and so I walked up to her behind another gentleman, so did many people... as you do when a new line opens up. When I politely asked to confirm that her lane was opening, she said yes—but then oddly gestured toward another employee saying she would direct me to a line. It made zero sense. People were already lining up at her register freely, so the logic—or lack thereof—was baffling. The tone again was indifference and cold. I did not take her statement seriously and I stayed in the line with my one single item. To make matters worse, I was reminded that Hobby Lobby still doesn’t accept Apple Pay—just one more outdated inconvenience to top off a bad experience. By the end of the visit, the constant lack of courtesy, helpfulness, or even the basic decency to fake a single smile or hello was enough for us to walk out without buying anything. It honestly felt like most of the staff didn’t want to be there and didn’t care who noticed. This location felt like a complete departure from the Hobby Lobby brand I’m used to. Maybe this is just the tone of the Brownsville/ Valley area, but that’s no excuse for poor customer service. This store seriously needs to retrain its team or bring in people who actually want to work in retail.
I love that hobby lobby has everything for my party needs but the staff is clueless. I asked one guy on a ladder if they carried balloons and he just replied i don't know. How can someone that works there not know if they carry something. Then at the register the cashier named Rodolfo was a bit rude , these kids have no idea on customer service. The manager needs to train them better.
The store has only been in business only one year and appeared to be quiet busy. As far as Hobby Lobbies go-it is like all the rest. The clearance section is still very limited (not like other H.L. Stores). However, they have excellent prices on close-out items in the store. Note: This review was submitted in early October and the pre-Christmas music was extremely monotonous and unpleasant (as is most of their religious oriented music is -during the rest of the year).
I'm in love! Me encantó la tienda, limpia y bien organizada, es como una combinación de Michael's, Parisina y Pier 1 El personal muy amable y los artículos de todos los precios. Una variedad impresionante de artículos y mercancía. Definitivamente volveré muchas veces
This is one of my favorite place you can fine almost anything!! And a lot of times it has discounts! I mean who doesn't love a goos deal?!
