Northern Tool + Equipment

There is really only one problem with this place and it’s that you wanna buy everything when you get in here. They do have plenty of friendly staff. They’re always asking how they could help you and actually pretty decent quality tools as well.

Actually minus star!! Went there to buy a trailer to pull behind motorcycle. Oooohhh ya gotta order that. ONLINE!! Not in the store. They wanta sell stuff have alllll those other trailer BUTT NOT THAT ONE!! Have the stuff in your stores. WE WILL NEVER NEVER SHOP. NORTHERN TOOL AGAIN. NEVER. They just lost a $1000 SALE !!

Please have the female manager who speaks broken English step down from her position. I purchased a fan with cash. The female cashier who was friendly probably overlooked it and made an honest mistake. She short me $10.00 that I was supposed to receive back. I trusted the cashier and didn't count the funds instantly. Upon my return home, I realized that I didn't receive back all of which I was supposed to. So, I called the store about an hour later and the female manager said she would count the drawer/register and get back to me. I waited and waited some more. No calls were made back to me so I called the store again and spoke to her. She stated the register had the additional $10.00 within it that I was missing. She then said that I could just drive back to the store and pick it up. I stated that I live about an hour away and that I do not often frequent that store. She made me feel like I was stupid on how she spoke to me. I requested that they could mail me the funds. She said that she would look into that and get back to me. Days passed with no return phone call. So I called the store and spoke to a man who seemed to be professional and friendly. He took my address and mailed it to me pronto.

The Northern Tool in Chattanooga convinced me to buy a used Stihl chainsaw at a discounted price. It was sold "as is". On checkout they had me sign a paper that said it "was used" (their quote). Overnight I got worried that it might not be a good deal because of their eagerness to sell it to me. I took it back the very next day to return and buy a brand new one. They would not take it back even if I was going to buy a new one. They said the paper I sign signed said no returns. That part they never mentioned. Agree I should have read the paper before signing. Since I have talked to four different customer support people and keep getting past on to either people who no longer work there or a regional manager that "does not have a phone" REALLY! So Tractor Supply for me from now on. Be careful when dealing with this company.

I bought a powerhorse pressure washer at this store a few years ago. I had some minor issues recently with motor not running properly, so I took it to this store for repair. They told me there would be a $60 evaluation fee plus $105 per hour labor plus parts!!! WHAT A RIPOFF! This is more than I pay an auto mechanic! NORTHERN TOOL IS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS BY CHARGING TOO MUCH FOR REPAIRS. I took my business elsewhere

Northern Tool is my husband's and mine absolute favorite store for tools and shop-related equipment. From simple items like hand carts to high end air compressors and tool boxes, you will likely find it here. They have Hobart, an extensive array of Klutch tools, Milwaukee, Dewalt. The Gravel Gear wearable line and boots is good and they have frequent sales. They have a smaller Carharrt line, and the prices are better than you will find in outdoor or sporting goods stores. Sign up for their loyalty program and you will receive coupons in the mail. The only downside is this is the only store in the region, so if they are out of something, you have to order online or drive to Marietta, GA.

This is a pretty big Northern Tool store. They have lots of tools and equipment that you wont really find anywhere else. I was surprised to see steam cleaners and porta cool fans there. Those are things you cant really find in other stores. That being said, it's worth stopping by and taking a look around if you're in the area. You may find something you've been looking for, or at least, know where to get it when you do need it.
