I was recently hospitalized in conjuction with a spine surgery and I must say I was very pleasantly surprised with Parkridge - which was the hospital selected by my surgeon. Even though it is under major construction, it was a quiet stay. The entire staff was very attentive to my needs, knowledgeable and efficient. The hospital itself was very clean and the food was actually amazing - not your run of the mill hospital food. While I hope to never have to stay in any hospital again, should the need arise, I'd be more than comfortable choosing Parkridge over the bigger hospitals.
Every employee I encountered was professional, friendly and helpful. They worked together as a team to ensure that everything was taken care of in a timely manner. I don't remember the name of all the staff but I would like to recognize Cheyney, Sheldon and Seth. They were some of the staff that kept everything going before my surgery. A big thanks to everyone that had anything to do with my care while I was at Parkridge. May God bless all of you.
Absolutely excellent service for my first surgery at PARKRIDGE! I'm a Memorial Queen:) but my physician had privileges here, so my surgery was scheduled here, I was very pleased! From PRE-TESTING to Lab work to Registration, to Surgery, the staff was outstanding the Nurses were great! Thank you for treating me wonderfully I'm headed back for the second surgery:) see you soon!
I give three stars because not all the people were bad. I can’t remember my nurses name due to it being almost year ago ,but I’m finally comfortable enough to speak a little about it. I had a scheduled induction for 12/4/24. Firstly I had two newer nurses who wasn’t sure about dilation (how far or if they were even doing it right) I was checked by 3 different people in a 10-20 min spand because the first two nurses wasn’t sure if their calculations were correct so dr roberts had to check for them. By the time I was ready to have my son I had only came into contact with one nurse my whole stay for my actual laboring part. Puking and crying and telling them I could start to feel the pain again(after my epidural) and due to them trying for a while with no success I begged for them to get any doctor who could (roberts went home due to his shift being over so I had to be with diala) cut me/use the vaccum to help make labor easier (I was cut and the baby was vacuumed out by roberts with my first son due to the same reason) after hours(2-3) of trying to push him out and begging for anything to help get him out I was denied a different dr and was also told she (diala)couldn’t use the vaccum legally (never was told this before) and she he nurse said "she’s not gonna cut you for no reason" even though I made it clear it was done with my other son and I was consenting for it to be done this time. I was also told "you’ll have to do this on your own" after pleading with no end in sight i told her I wanted him out of me then (due to being scared he was stuck in the birthing canal because she was talking about seeing his head for a whole 30 mins before I was begging for a different dr) she then proceeded to tell me to TAKE A NAP just so she could get a break (mind you it’s been almost 3 hours at this point for me pushing and SHE was wanting a 30 minute break) after I declined and said I’ll be continuing to push she acted irritated and never once got the doctor to check on me or anything (it was 2 hours of telling me she was coming and blah blah blah ) diala didnt enter the room until the baby was flying out. So I had one nurse no dr and declined any other help than diala and the one nurse I ended up with 2nd degree tears and I was in pain for way longer than I was with my first son. The night after I had my second son I wasn’t able to walk (and the pain was unbareable) so I wasn’t able to pee. Knowing this my only way of trying to use the restroom was in a bed pan that my fiancé had to try to help me use due to them not "being allowed" to help me shower and use the restroom until my legs were 100% so me at the big age of 25 had to piss my bed due to me not being able to pull myself up on the bedpan . I say this but also wanna say I did come across some Great people. A few nurses after my terrible experience was so sweet and made sure I was comfortable and my pain was low as possible I had so many great nurses the day after! And also the lovely ladies left me a card for my fat man! I had a terrible birth experience but I wanna say thank you to the women who were my bedside nurses after I had Asher. I was hit with the fact my son had clubfoot in labor and I was in shock and all the lovely ladies would talk about how adorable he was and I remember one of them referring to my sons little club feet to "fins" and I wanna say thank you to all the lovely ladies for loving my boy when I physically couldn’t. I don’t ever plan on having anymore babies so I thought I’d let people know how my experience was.
From the emergency room to my emergent surgery and hospital stay the people are amazing here. I waited a bit too long but they diagnosed me and had no issues getting me the care I needed. Sawyer was my nurse on 4 west and she and my night nurse Susan did an amazing job at caring for me. I felt like I was never a burden and they answered my call lights almost right away. Dr Gore was my hospitalist and he was so kind and took into consideration my outside life. My surgeon Dr Greer was amazing as well. The housekeeping, techs and even the management checked on me throughout the day. My overall experience was great considering how all this came up unexpected. I will use Parkridge and the Soddy Daisy ER for all my needs from now forward thanks to my experience. The only feedback for improvement would be the food which had nothing to do with my care
While the staff was friendly, the treatment I received was subpar, and I felt as though I was rushed out of the ER. This experience nearly cost me my life. Update: The hospital did reach out to me from a generic number (as shown below). When I called back, I was transferred multiple times to individuals who didn’t seem to know who could address my concerns. Eventually, I was passed to someone who seemed somewhat interested in hearing about my experience. They returned my call and initiated a grievance process, though I’m unsure of what that entails. I’ll provide another update once I have more information. Stay tuned... Further Update: I never heard back from the hospital directly—only received a letter in the mail basically stating that "we investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing." Needless to say, this response felt dismissive and, frankly, laughable. I followed their procedures in good faith and had hoped that my feedback could help improve the experience for others. I understand that the hospital may have feared admitting fault due to potential legal ramifications. However, that was never my intention. My goal was to bring attention to what happened in hopes of making things better for future patients. Unfortunately, my concerns fell on deaf ears. Because of my experience, I would strongly recommend seeking care elsewhere. Context: For context, I was incredibly ill when I went to the ER. I was experiencing blurred vision, difficulty focusing, extreme fatigue, a persistent headache, trouble speaking (forgetting words, struggling to complete sentences), and hallucinations (such as seeing only one person on a TV screen when there were two, vivid colors, and flashing rainbows). Despite these alarming symptoms, I was placed in a small, confined space with three other patients. Throughout my time there, I overheard medical staff discussing patients' private medical information openly, which was uncomfortable for me as a very private person. When my vital signs were taken, my blood pressure was around 190/137, and my blood sugar was 400. They gave me a few pills—maybe a shot—and sent me home. The treatment I received felt inadequate, and I later suffered a seizure, which led to a diagnosis of autoimmune encephalitis at a different hospital. The symptoms I experienced—headaches, vision disturbances—were all indicative of seizure activity. I spent two weeks in the hospital being treated for the condition, and even after two weeks, I still had difficulty seeing more than two fingers in front of me at a distance of just two feet. Now, six months later, I am no longer on any blood pressure medication. The diagnosis I received at Parkridge was completely incorrect. It seemed they were only treating the symptoms, not the underlying issue. I believe the rush to discharge me from the ER nearly cost me my life. The healthcare I received felt reckless and potentially dangerous. For anyone considering this facility, I strongly recommend seeking care elsewhere.
Parkridge Medical has provided me with the best medical care during both times I was there , June 5 and Sept 25 for back surgery. All of the staff were very professional as well as sympathetic and caring. I would give them a five star rating and would recommend them to anyone needing care in that area. I traveled form Johnson City, TN to be under the care of Dr, David Wiles, a great Nerurosurgeon.
