Cincinnati Union Terminal

Union Station in Cincinnati is a fantastic example of American art deco architecture and one of the most beautiful train stations I have visited in the USA. If you are in the area it is absolutely worth your time to at least stop in and view the area (rotunda?) inside the main entrance. There is are free 15 minute parking spots just outside the entrance if you just want to run in for a few minutes and then check out the fountain out front (also phenomenal).

Absolutely horrible. Amtrak should be ashamed of their ads. We were tossed about and jostled the entire trip. Fine dining was microwaved food wrapped in foil and slung on a table. We had to hold on to go anywhere. Coffee was always empty. Bathrooms were dirty and stinking on train to Chicago. The best part of our trip honestly was the bus ride from Longview to Houston, Texas. My daughter threw up after the first couple hours on the train. Amtrak should let people know how rough this ride is.

Train stations are beautiful, particularly in Europe. I've been to Rome's Termini and London's Paddington and Kansas City's Union Station. New York of course has Penn Station and Grand Central. So it's not unexpected to find a stunning structure here in Cincinnati. Art Deco lines throughout, whether it's the main design of the building from the front, the beautiful rotunda, the little points here and there. I wasn't visiting the Historical Museum or the Science Museum, just here to see this amazing building, hang out for a bit in the cafe and then head onwards. It's well worth the stop just for that even if the parking is $8.

The trip to Chicago was great even if it was at the wee hours of the morning, and the museum is also great! Please visit it. Amtrak staff are friendly. Also, get the canned coffee from the vending machine.

Just passing through, very cool to visit. Many options for pull through parking, you do have to pay after 30 minutes and it’s metered with an arm so I don’t recommend the parking lot with a camper in tow. The bathrooms were very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The art is absolutely amazing inside and it’s a beautiful building to just be inside of.

Jaw-dropping ceiling within the station building that spans 180 feet and has a riot of colors. And the station has a couple of museums and a gift shop. I don't think anyone passing through could fail to be mesmerized and pause to take photos of the ceiling.
