owner is a really nasty guy. there’s a reason this place has the lowest star rating of all the hardware stores in the area. to owner- i reviewed 2 separate dolly’s locations. one was positive, one was negative. and yeah i have reviews for places in other cities! people can travel and move different places! it’s pretty cool. the issue i had with your hardware store is YOU.

One of my favorite places to visit for hard to find items. Small, hometown hardware of which there aren’t many left. Inventory is staged as you’d expect with like items grouped together. The gentleman manning the store has what you need… you just need to ask if you can’t find it. We rehab a number of older vehicles and this is our go to for nuts/ bolts and other items needed to complete the job. Support local!

I was gonna stop in and buy some stuff I needed. Saw there was no line for the barber, so I went to get a cut. My truck was getting towed 10 mins into my haircut. I will never be back. Why would you do that?? You lost a semi annual customer.

If I could do zero stars I would I went into Salem hardware to buy plumbing part, and I asked the The guy where the angle stops was any scolded me for cutting in line and interrupting him, but he was in a personal conversation with somebody that was walking out the door and did not purchase anything and he wanted to argue with me on what I wanted help with I asked him for an angle stop and he said you mean A 90 I said no a shut off valve for underneath the sink and he called it A 90 stop or something When I told him no, it’s called an angle tap, and shut up out for underneath the sink He said well you are arguing with me. Just leave any threaten to call the police on me. This owner is very unprofessional. I work for myself. I am an independent plumber and I would never treat a customer or a potential customer like this guy treated me. He does not even deserve to be in business and after reading some of these reviews, and then reading the owners comments on some of these reviews is astonishing he obviously does not care about his customers or any potential customers. He obviously got his feelings hurt because he did not know what he was talking about and had no clue. How are you gonna sell parts when you don’t even know what they are. Everybody do yourself a favor do not shop here save yourself and save the agony of dealing with this owner And I assume he is the owner, but he would not tell me his name or his title. he caused the problem and then he decided to call the police. He needs to learn to be a man and not run from a problem and want the police to handle his problem for him it was uncalled for of how he treated me. It is uncalled for how he treats customers. so like I said, do yourself a favor and stay away from this hardware store You will save yourself a lot of aggravation and to the owners response all the video would show is how this hardware store is unprofessional

I'm really shocked by some of these reviews. I found the owner to be very helpful. The store has a personal touch and character you don't find in big box stores.

Excellent hardware store which has bailed me out time after time and project after project. Missing some screws for something - anything? Go to Salem Hardware first. I have never seen a bigger inventory of fasteners than what they have!!! Very well organized and they are great to hang with!! If you want to complain about politics, or you don’t like a store owner’s views, then good luck on your project. Either side of the political aisle will still do well to shop there.
