This company is dog water! If you have a choice between several electric companies, DO NOT USE THIS ONE! My power has went out several times within this past month! No warning whatsoever! Just went out again, AND THERE’S NOT EVEN A STORM RIGHT NOW! They like to shut power off randomly and without warning! THEY TAKE THEIR SWEET TIME TO RESTORE POWER! I’ve went 15 hours without power once with this stupid company! I’ll be in contact with several different electric companies to possibly get them to route power to my area. I’ll also be contacting the better business bureau of Tennessee to report them. This is ridiculous! They sure do like to up-charge you as much as possible! Edit: Power has went out 6 times this week! You can’t even call to speak to anyone over the weekend! Their automated system says "press 6" to leave a message, but when you do it tells you it’s an invalid option! They’re so bad at their jobs that they can’t even get their shitty automated system to work right!

Just finished with a power outage @ midnight. Brandon was quick to return my call & a technician came out to verify & fix the concern within a timely manner! Thank you Brandon & VEC team!

VEC has always been very responsive to any problems we have had. Very prompt and professional. We're out in the country and have issues with trees and power lines. Very common.

I use the pay as you go meter and check my email for low meter notifications daily. They back charged me the rate of what I typically use in a full week with 0 notification in a day and left my account at $1. The excuse was "we back charged you for the new higher rates because we realized we hadn't been charging you for the new rates." I completely understand that rates were going to change but to give absolutely 0 notification that you forgot to charge me said rates and were going to back charge me for multiple days at once could have resulted in my utilities literally being shut off because I use pay as you go and just put in what I typically use for a week and add more once it gets below a certain point. I'm pretty irritated because this is extremely unprofessional and notice should have been given that they had forgotten to implement the new higher rates and were going to go back to back charge me. I work nights so there's a good chance that if I had forgotten to check my email before going to sleep that I literally could have woken up to no power because I had plenty in my pay as you go account yesterday. I suspect I'm not the only customer affected by this extremely unprofessional "oops we forgot to charge you so we're going to do that now without telling you there was even a mistake in the first place."

The problem with these utility companies is there’s no competition so they can do whatever they want and charge whatever they want and there’s nothing you can do about it if you want power and trust me they will definitely screw you over as much as they can and when you call about it, they don’t care and just give you a generic answer, including the supervisors. Aka meaning you have no choice but to pay whatever they tell you, even if you don’t even live at the property and there’s no appliances not even a water heater hooked up and your bill is really high for absolutely no reason because no one has been in the house but they don’t care because they know that there’s nothing you can do about it if you want power. I thought we lived in America not a Third World country.

The power went out at 2pm it’s 8:30 pm now and still no power. The power goes out almost every week and the only answer you can get is they are aware and it’s necessary for the workers to finish the job safely. What are they working on that takes 6hrs to fix it’s a sunny day with no rain or wind!

Power goes out randomly on a regular basis and takes hours to be restored.
