I’m sorry, but I need to be honest. The management at this store clearly shows little regard for their customers. Who wants to be greeted by a pile of trash? (See attached photos.) I was shocked by how much garbage had been allowed to accumulate. Unfortunately, the inside of the store wasn’t any better—completely disorganized and messy. The dressing rooms were a disaster. I regret not taking photos of the massive piles of clothes on the counters, behind the counter, and even inside multiple dressing rooms that should have been available for customers. When I arrived, there was no line for a dressing room, but within minutes a crowd had formed. It took a while for an associate to assist us, and when she did, she couldn’t find the key. She had to dig through the piles of clothes and eventually left to find another one, causing even more delays. Luckily, a customer exited a room, allowing us to use it—but others behind us were left waiting. To top it all off, the checkout lines were extremely long, adding to an already frustrating experience. Honestly, it may be worth the drive to the Portland Academy or even out of town. Academy in Corpus Christi—you need to do better for your customers.

I really like this store. It has a great selection and fair prices. I really like their clearance selection on sneakers. They also have a really nice selection of women's active wear. Its just an all around nice store and its clean. The people working here are also helpful and friendly.

Thank you academy for helping me get the right size for my shoes. I had to exchange these shoes 3 times and I didn't have any trouble, So 5 stars for customer service.

Never enough staff. There were atleast 15 people in line and only 2 registers open...and one was held up dealing with someone making tons of returns.

Was at the gun section to buy a shotgun and a pistol. My wife and I were there around 8:20 pm. We were 3rd in line in being helped but became the 5th or 6th in line because the guy in the counter skipped us twice or thrice. By the time he helped us it was like 5-7 minutes before 9pm (apparently they can’t sell guns when it hits 9pm). In those few minutes he was taking his time and moving slowly looking for the guns we were interested in and soon later became a few minutes past 9pm. Then he says "Oh sorry we can’t sell because it’s past 9pm". In my head I was like "Well if you did your job properly and fairly we would’ve been done by 8:30-8:40". You can tell from his attitude that he didn’t care and just wanted to go home. Then when we went out to check out in the front on some things we bought, everybody was slow to help and showed lazy and uncaring attitude. Horrible customer service experience never coming back!

Visited Academy -Corpus Christi Tx. on 9-5-25, terrible experience. Long line 15+ people in line to check out. Out of 20+ check out lines only 3-4 were open and available to check out customers. I almost left but had to redeem 2 gift cards for my purchase....I will definitely consider Dicks Sporting Goods in the future. Really turned off by slow check out service and no sense of urgency by Academy employees....no management staff available/visible to alleviate problem ,it was like nobody gave a damn. I was very turned off and upset by this store this day. No management intervention..Seems like Academy has gotten too big for they're bridges . They keep that up they will find out..I'm leaving them for Dicks Sporting Goods.....!!!

It’s an academy so it is what it is but the manager working 6/16 around noon is an absolute disgrace. One employee working the registers and him "working" a register/customer service. While the awesome young lady was checking me out she sent me to him to talk about an online order. He told me nothing he could do about the issue so I just tried to purchase what I had and he said he couldn’t do it and to get back into the line. I did and while waiting I notice the lady working the register CLEARLY had to use the bathroom. Well when it was my turn to checkout again lo and behold I get the "manager" at THE SAME register again. Still trying to be polite I laughed and asked if he was able to check me out now. He didn’t like that and at that point I was at my wits end. I told him as I was leaving he needed to get someone to cover for his employee because she had to use the bathroom and he completely blew it off and proceeded to tell me why he was more busy. I don’t write reviews much less one this long but if you’re wondering why all your business is going to more expensive mom and pop stores that manager would be a great place to start looking into. Also to the girl at the register, you are a rockstar you don’t deserve to work somewhere like that. To the manager, get use to saying "do you want fries with that "
