Last week, expecting good customer service, I came in to have a (preselected) good quality spinning reel to match my new surf fishing rod. The young lady at the counter summoned Gary to assist me. Immediately, I sensed that Gary seemed perturbed that I was taking him away from perhaps his already busy workload. Within 5 minutes, I had my choice made on which reel to purchase and discussed which line to get. During the interaction, Gary wore a frown and was "unfriendly". I strive to see the good in people and considered that maybe, he was not having a good day or may have personal issues. On the other hand, I know that co-workers overheard us and could have stepped up to assist me and give Gary a break, make it a much more comfortable exchange and for me to be on my way. Facial expressions from other customers (may be noted on security camera) supported my feeling and stance on this situation. I love Roy's Bait & Tackle Outfitters and will continue to give them my business.Upon exiting, I wished Gary, customers behind me and Roy's Staff "a great day". Amazing selection of fishing gear and accessories. Just look at the pictures. I am from Houston and stopped in for some gear for a Tuna trip with other disabled Veterans next month. I spoke to Jarod who was very Respectful and very helpful. I needed some tuna lures put together which normally would take a day to get them back. After informing Jarod I was from Houston and a disabled Veteran he immediately stopped what he was doing and fixed them. What better service could you ask for, he went the extra mile. I salute you Jarod and will be a loyal customer.

This is the best fishing tackle store! They not only have everything, they have a lot of helpful staff in every corner of the store. They have fixed my rod and reels too. Also great sales on clothes. Shout out to Maurice who patiently showed me every possible pair of flats boots in the store until I finally chose one. He was so great and extremely nice and friendly! Thank you Roys!

Just WOW! Stopped in to purchase fishing license. In 75 years I've never seen a bigger, more complete store dedicated to fishing including what might be the biggest selection of kayaks in the world. Makes Bass Pro Shop look like a small corner store. Pleasant and helpful folks.

After a long drive from San Antonio to corpus to do some fishing I realized I had forgotten more than just my lucky hat. I forgot to load up some gear and paddle for my kayak. Luckily Roy’s had everything I needed and helped me find everything. Fast forward 4 years and I’m a loyal customer plus now have the opportunity to be a brand ambassador for them. If it’s fishing related, they have you covered. Gear, tackle, apparel, kayaks, glasses and fly fishing gear. Stop by to check it out. Fisherman’s candy shop is by far the best description.

They have a decent selection of soft plastics but the reel servicing crew was very rude over a simple question about a spinning reel. The employees working the clothing section are nice as can be.

We were excited about finding a place that has a variety of items for fishing. We’ve bought many things to fish when we travel down to Corpus Christi like clothing, tackle boxes, and recently a kayak as well as a reel. However, we recently encountered an unfortunate and unpleasant experience with a few employees. Namely the young man with the curly hair and cap whose name I didn’t get and another employee who basically treated both of us (husband and I) in a condescending manner. This is very unprofessional and disrespectful as customers are the reason businesses thrive. Be advised that before you make a significant purchase I’d check their return policy as if it’s used and want you’d like to return it due to a defect it will not be returnable/exchangeable. Update: After speaking with management we left the reel with the store and it was determined that there was a defect. Due to this the reel was exchanged for a new one. This may not be their policy but they made it right.
