Rocky Movers

5.7

Rocky Movers, based in Denver, Colorado, offers battery storage solutions and moving services for both local and interstate relocations. They present themselves as a family-owned business prioritizing personal attention and direct employee management. However, clients should be aware of potential inconsistencies in service coordination and communication challenges during longer-distance moves.

While initial packing and loading in Denver may be handled with care and professionalism, the subsequent delivery experience can be problematic. Customers should expect to be mindful of potential delays, heightened scrutiny of paperwork, and varying levels of care during unloading, and maintain a sharp eye for inventory verification. Consider also the possibility of logistical complexities affecting overall efficiency.

Hired them to move states and it went pretty poorly. They took a long time, were not responsive, and a bunch of stuff was missing when the majority finally was delivered. It's been hard to get a hold of anybody and find out if they're even looking for the missing stuff. They told me when I first hired them that they're a mom and pop business and don't use contractors. Absolutely not true. The people who delivered my furniture were an entirely different company and communication seems pretty poor between them and Rocky Movers. There were times I called Rocky Movers to find out the status of my delivery and they couldn't get ahold of the contractors to find out. I hired Rocky Movers because they were the lowest price I was quoted. The value of the stuff they lost more than made up for the price gap. I wish I had just spent the money on a better moving service instead.

TLDR: WARNING do not use Rocky Movers if you are moving out of state. Not only will I not use this company again, I will warn others not to use them either. The part that was done in Denver (our point of origin) was fantastic and I would have left a 5 star review if it wasn’t for the nightmare with receiving and unloading at our destination. Initial pack up was great. A crew of 5 guys wrapped furniture and loaded our boxes onto the truck (we did the actual packing of boxes ourselves prior to the move). The entire crew arrived on time, were courteous, and seemed to be extra-careful about respecting our furniture and our home. I hesitate to say too many good things because the great experience at the start led me to believe our stuff was in good hands and would be treated well during the entire process. It wasn’t. When the time came for our belongings to be delivered, our morning delivery slot ultimately became the driver showing up around 6 pm. Then, while we waited for his ONE helper to arrive, he made us pay and sign all the paperwork (saying it was company policy) before he would unload—the same paperwork that states you are only supposed to sign AFTER you confirm all items are received and in good condition. Then he tried to talk us into not checking the inventory against the boxes to make sure everything had arrived. These 2 guys unloaded in 4 hours what it took an entire crew of 5 around 6-7 hours to load, and they did it with little to no respect paid to our furniture or our house. They literally ran down the ramp with hand-trucks stacked 5 or 6 boxes high (fragile items on the bottom). Wheeled the hand-truck directly over new floors with no protective coverings. Dropped our boxes on the ground and on one another. Carried oversized items by themselves and hit walls and floors. Slid things instead of picking them up. By the time the truck was unloaded it was 10:00 pm. I chose not to have them reassemble several items because I didn’t trust them to touch some of our more expensive or complicated multiple-piece furniture beyond putting legs on couches and chairs to make sure all the legs were there. I never want to go through an experience like that again. My trust in Rocky Movers has been completely broken. So yeah. Use at your own risk.

We recently moved from Highlands Ranch to a new home in Lakewood, and Rocky Movers made it such an easy experience. Juan, Maurice, and Amparo were exceptional—friendly, detailed, and clearly experienced with every aspect of residential moving. They brought heavy-duty supplies to protect our bigger items, and they even helped us rearrange furniture at the new place. The crew went above and beyond, and not once did I feel rushed or overlooked. If you’re looking for reliable movers who serve the full Denver metro, this team is definitely the one to trust.

We hired Rocky Movers for our family’s move from Arvada to a larger home in Aurora, and everything went off without a hitch. Tabor and Maggie were courteous, fast, and very thorough. They took the time to wrap furniture properly, labeled boxes for easy unpacking, and stayed focused all day long. What stood out most was their attention to detail—they even helped us move a few heavy boxes into the basement after unloading. This level of service isn’t easy to find, especially during peak season in Denver. Highly recommend.

Rocky Movers helped me with a quick local move in Centennial, and I was amazed by their efficiency. Vincent and Amparo showed up exactly on time, brought high-quality packing materials, and had my studio apartment packed and moved within just a few hours. I really appreciated how they treated even small items with care. I’ve used larger moving companies before, but none delivered the personalized service that these two did. If you need a stress-free move in the Denver area, Rocky Movers is a great choice.

I was nervous about hiring movers after a bad past experience, but Rocky Movers completely changed my outlook. Luis and Maggie helped me move from my Cherry Creek apartment to a condo in Aurora, and they were phenomenal. From start to finish, they were professional, friendly, and efficient. They handled fragile items with extra care and made sure the furniture was wrapped securely. I especially appreciated how communicative they were—no surprises, no drama. For anyone hesitant about hiring movers in Denver, take my word: Rocky Movers is the real deal.

Everything started out great with my Denver to Cincinnati move with Rocky Movers. Barry, my original rep, was great, the movers taking apart my furniture in Denver and loading it were fantastic. Even with paperwork, they were in and out within 2 hours for our 1900 sq ft house. Things went south with the delivery. Apparently the truck driver didn’t like where my new home is because the road is slightly busy and cars would have to go around the parked moving truck in order to drive down the road. He told me my husband and I would have to do a shuttle service where the driver parks his semi at a different location, then loads our possessions onto a smaller truck off the semi, then the smaller truck is driven to my house, then my husband and I have to unload the smaller truck ourselves-oh, and it would be an extra $900 on top of the $4,380 we were already paying. I tried to call the moving company that afternoon and never got an answer on how the issue was going to be resolved until the next afternoon while our stuff was being held hostage. The driver eventually offloaded his truck in front of our house with constant arguing with me about it. When he arrived, he sat in his truck for an hour doing nothing and another person didn’t come to help him for nearly another hour. My buffet table and a bookshelf were broken in the process. I tried to follow-up with management about the truck issue, but she never emailed me back. Isn’t this a professional moving company that has experience offloading trucks in various residential neighborhoods? If I wanted the headache, we would have made the cross-country move without the help.
