Porter Do It Best Hardware and Rental

I was actually on my way to another hardware/garden store but saw this place and stopped. The staff was eager to help me find what I needed and the prices were hard to beat! The store is strategically laid out and everything was easy to find. I really loved the products they had available here. Will definitely come back as gardening season progresses!

It's really unfortunate that I used to be able to go here find what I needed or if I had a question I could ask and somebody would be able to help me. Those days are gone when you ask a question they act like you're bothering them because we ended up to social hour on their cell phones. And now they want to charge $8.49 for an outlet.

Always have what you need. Easier to find things than the big mega stores like Lowe’s etc !! Staff is helpful and knowledgeable.

Great experience renting a Sod Cutter. Guys answered all my questions, and had me loaded up and ready to go in a few minutes. Let me borrow ramps to help load it into the truck, which they included in the cost, which was lower than the next offering in town. When I returned it, there was no hassles. Good service. Good price. Good equipment. Reasonable policy... what's not to like? Will rent here again

I stopped by this establishment on a whim as I was making a purchase outside the store. 4/15/25 5:32pm To my surprise, they had a very nice selection and extremely well priced. I really wish that I could give it five stars however, the lady who rang me up was made it a less than desirable experience from the moment I walked in. I was not greeted as the two other gentleman who walked in as welll. She seemed very annoyed by my presence. I was not acknowledged until I went to the cash register. I felt uncomfortable by the distant stare. The reason why I did make a purchase was the gentleman in service with a red beard. He took notice that I was frustrated and came over to help me from across the room. He was very pleasant from the moment of our interaction so much so that I thanked him on the way out. He will be the reason why I step foot back in this building, but if the lady is still behind the counter. I will probably ask to work with somebody else.

The new website is the worst! Not user friendly and extremely cumbersome to navigate. I finally gave up and ended up going somewhere else.

They have some awesome workers and have great tools available for rental. I do wish they would focus more on customer service. They have a lot of ground to make up in this regard. You’d think a small hardware store would put customer service first. Overall decent place to rent equipment and tools.
