I pay my bill every single month. Sometimes my bill would be over 1000 and id still pay(residential) without calling about it(im stupid for that i know). Always paid. This month, I thought I had until the 30th and I usually always pay on the 29th. Today I get home from work and my power is out. I had to pay $750 additionally on a $189 bill because I guess they wanted it on the 28th this month. One time two years ago this happened and they worked with me then. This time, there was just nothing they could do. Also, they said the date due fluctuates based on when they read the meter.. CE is consistent with me though. When I was in NC, that utility/energy company worked much better than DTE. CE isnt like this. Water isnt like this. No other company ive had to deal with is like this. The customer service representative was 10/10. I know the workers who put in the work are 10/10. The people responsible for how this company operates only care about $$ and they will do whatever necessary to make as much of it as they can, especially off the backs of the ones who pay their salary.

We’re told that DTE is "constantly improving their grid" so they can regularly shove rate hikes down our throats. My power still goes out on non-stormy days like today, where it’s currently 66° and sunny. Would give 0 stars if I could. But hey, at least the rich shareholders can see returns on their investment!

Electricity is an essential service and should be publicly owned—not controlled by a for-profit monopoly like DTE. Despite constant rate hikes, we still deal with frequent, prolonged outages even after mild weather. Their infrastructure is outdated, and they clearly prioritize profits over reliability. To make matters worse, their online outage map is not user-friendly and is hard to visually see the live power outages. Their old map was better. Absolutely unacceptable for the prices we’re paying. Michigan deserves better.

$479 for 2 bedroom apartment! What is going on with DTE. My usage didnt change but my bill doubled. Customer service is not helpful, asking "is there anything else I can help you with?". You haven't helped me with my first issue. This is ridiculous price gouging.

Terrible customer service and Hellen Keller had better communication skills! I’ve been getting on them for 6 months about trees that are up in the lines in my backyard. I want the trees taken completely out, so this does become a problem again. But, I can even get them trimmed. One guy showed up about 5 months ago to look at them and nothing else came of it. Can’t get a call back or return message, I’m over it.

I went to this office they told me you got to call nobody will see you.you here. What is office for? My phone they can't even add on my account I call don't recognize my account I filed several complaints with BBB and ftc still not fixed. They label us as crazy! There is no hope! I have had a single account for 15 yrs ! I guess I'm not 1 of the chosen some guy walked past me telling Byrd dog is that be are dog he was saying? If I tell what's being done they label us as crazy yet I'm speaking the honest to God's truth go look at tape it is 1042 am. August 27th 2025 like ten mins ago.

If you can email the statement every month, you can email the final statement for people moving! What’s the purpose of deleting online profiles where the payment is set up?! It’s dumb and inconsiderate! It should be up to us, THE PEOPLE, you so called serve, to delete our account and information! IF YOU CAN EMAIL ABOUT SAVING ENERGY - YOU CAN EMAIL THE FINAL BILL! WAKE UP AND GET OUT OF THE STONE AGE WITH THE SNAIL MAIL AND OVER THE PHONE PAYMENTS!
