Security Self Storage - Durham

BEWARE!!!!! DO NOT STORE ANYTHING HERE! My husband and I had rented here over 7 years. We decided to get separate units. They quoted me a price for a smaller unit BEFORE I moved anything. They told me I had 3 days to complete move. After the 3 days they then told me the rent increased while I was moving and charged me a higher rate. After 3 months they increased my rent again over $40! I am now in a much smaller unit and only paying $8 less than the biggest unit they have which was the original unit. I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE! FIND ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE! YOU WILL REGRET IT!

After just a few months and A LOT OF MOVING, I was then paying $8 less for a much smaller unit than the biggest unit they have which was the original unit we had. On their website they show they have a 5.0 star review score, this is because they PURPOSELY REMOVE any negative reviews! I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!

Shelby is delightful to work with all smiles and Customer Service, which is rare nowadays, but really important for how do I make a decision about contractual agreements. I had originally planned to check out another storage facility, but I made my mind up as soon as I started interacting with Shelby. She was sweet as pie, but very professional.

Lauren S. at the Cornwallis location in Durham was awesome! She answered all of my questions and gave me a tour of my options in a very professional manner. She was the reason I decided on Security Self Storage for all my future storage needs. Thank you Lauren! Great job! 🙂

It’s pretty awesome as far as storage places go. It is all one level, and the indoor unit facilities are always a cool-ish temperature and never damp or humid. They are well maintained and all the external views of units are visually checked multiple times by management staff to ensure compliance and assurance things are normal and clean. The staff are also nice and professional. They also give you a 3-ish day grace period after your pay deadline before late fees are incurred, which for me as life happens was greatly appreciated.

Visited business venue regarding temporary storage. Greeted by Miss Shelby. Very pleased with professionalism of staff and cleanliness of storage unit. Impressed with Muss Shelby’s knowledge of company policies and procedures. Yes, I am renting a unit! If I could change anything, it would be to offer between 3 to 10% reduction for clients on autopay. Thank you Security Storage for having a user-friendly business model!
