I will start that I love Vindeket. I've been going and donating to Vindeket for 2 1/2 years. However, my family has never been treated as disrespectfully as we were today by one volunteer. A female at 9:30 a.m. in charge of the fridge/ freezer section on Thursday 9/11/2025 was very controlling. She was standing near her full cart of different products not putting anything new out in the fridge/freezer section when there was plenty of space still on the shelves. Got mad at my child when we were still in that section for grabbing an item a fridge door behind us (there was only one other person behind us who had passed on that item already.) Once we started turning the corner was when she started unloading her cart of items. We tried to grab a new item put out in a freezer, still no one else behind us getting items and was rudely told "one way market, you can't have that". Again, we've been going for 2 1/2 years and have never been targeted out like this before. I don't know if it's our family of 6 we feed and she wants to control us from getting less on our trips, our bi-racial family dynamic, or if it was just an off day filled with extra control but I struggled wanting to donate as much as I did (I still donated the amount I brought for today but she made it harder for me to have that want). I'm extremely disappointed with her today. With all that said, I'll still be back and choose to treat her with kindness however she chooses to treat our family.

I’ve been shopping/volunteering at Vindeket for four years now and am excessively grateful FoCo has such an amazing resource. Vindeket became the linchpin to allow me to afford living in such an affluent/expensive town. I started visiting when I began attending graduate school at CSU in 2021. Initially simply to feed my curiousity (being a fellow/frugal dumpster-diver), yet when I became food insecure due to higher-than-expected tuition fees, I frequented more in earnest. It’s kind and empowering to come gather food that would’ve been thrown away, helping negate the horrific food-waste statistics, but also selfishly gratifying to save hundreds a week on grocery bills (seriously I eat like a horse). Despite all our donations consisting of foods past their ‘best by/sell/expiration’ date, I can attest (I am still kicking enough to type this out, no?) that after four years I’ve never had any health issues. As the website explains: use your nose and trust your gut! In fact, due to the oddities and unexpectedness of what grocery stores provide, I have access to a cornucopia of options! Excluding two, Vindeket is run exclusively by volunteers. I won’t speak for everyone, but I endeavor to be welcoming, receptive and empathetic. However, we are only human and there are many more shoppers than there are volunteers. Thank you for your patience with us!! Similarly, Vindeket relies heavily on donations from shoppers. If you are able to give, however little (even $1 is lovely! truly!!), we appreciate it. Please know it goes towards unavoidable bills, such as diesel and electric. I am often doing parking lot duty, so if you see a figure with all the tats (Summer) or a flamboyant onesie (Winter) give a wave or hello! But also please know I cannot chat too long as there are many cars to direct! If you have any questions, wrangle a fellow volunteer and we will be as informative as we can. Ultimately, Vindy is a rare bird. I am (once more) exuberantly grateful to be a part of such a worth-salt cause!

A wonderful market that prevents food waste by rescuing food. You can volunteer here, make donations for your groceries, and they even have gluten free and dairy free options. Great place that gives back to the community, and a wonderful opportunity to help others as well.

This is a non profit so my husband gets to choose a place that HCB gets to donate 500 bucks to every year and quess what?!? We are going to get the numbers in order to make this happen every year! We are just so thankful you guys were there to help us feed our 3 boys and ourselves through very hard times. Thank you so much!

Absolutely fantastic. This is a food bank or pantry food pantry that is really great and they just said yes to my request of supplying appetizers and some drinks for our resident meetings at 57th St. ROC which is two mobile home parks that we are in the process of Setting up an offer to purchase and so they are just really great. Thank you Vindeket

This place is so lovely, it keeps food out of landfills AND helps make ends meet. The volunteers are always nice, too.

Excellent Very nice and appreciated! My 1st time there. The people are amazingly helpful and do not look down on anyone! I have been unemployed and my unemployed ran out. I have used the food bank, and I appreciate the help from the food bank, but here I was able to choose what I needed. I did give a donation and all the food I obtained I have meals planned. Thank you so much for this resource!
