I love George’s for multiple reasons. For years, I have gotten my guacamole, pico, and chips from here. They have an amazing meat counter, donuts, and handmade baked goods, but many people don’t know that they make some really fire sandwiches. The sandwich that I just purchased is George special and it is absolutely big enough for two people. The sandwich is delicious, the bread is fresh and the ingredients are amazing. Stop going to the big chain places for a sandwich and swing by George’s on Broadway and have you a sandwich made by one of the ladies in the deli. Thank me later.
Really nice place. As a gringo, I've been disappointed with how dry and unsweet things I had gotten from a different Mexican bakery were in the past. So I made sure to get a wide assortment of moist looking baked goods. All the baked goods were absolutely phenomenal - cinnamon rolls, churros, strudels, everything. Didn't get a chance to try the deli (refrigerated goods) as I was traveling from out of town. Highly recommend. Also, their Mexican restaurant next door is fire. Get yourself some tamales, street tacos, and chips/salsa.
George's International Market is a fun stop to find foods you may have never tried before. We have a foreign exchange student from Germany living with us, who also has Brazilian heritage, and she found several products that were foreign to me, but nostalgic for her. I would describe the majority of the food as culturally Hispanic, so I was disappointed in the limited Asian or Italian options. The facility was tidy, but lacking in the feeling of inviting and just clean enough to get a pass. There was no signage to describe what's in each aisle which was irking but no exactly a problem. The staff, though sparse, seemed nice. The bakery had beautiful and unique items that I would have tried if I didn't have food sensitivities - speaking of which, there were zero natural / organic options. Prices seemed very fair considering (I suspect) many of the items are imported in relatively small amounts, and the produce was relatively fresh. It's worth a trip in to see what it's like and grab a few fun things to try.
Absolutely love shopping here! So many things I want to purchase just haven't had the opportunity to yet. The bakery goods are SUPER delicious and super affordable which is great. Ordered a cake and it was very moist and delicious! 11/10 experience from the bakery!
I haven't shopped there, just go with my daughter or granddaughter. They absolutely love it. It's authentic Hispanic food. There's lots of snacks and sodas, plus their bakery makes very delicious cakes and bread. There's a Mexican restaurant next door that buys their supplies from George's, which makes delicious tamales.
Super amazing bakery!!!!! Customer service was wonderful. You can tell the people running this place have been doing it forever and are passionate about what they do. Love Georges! A bit pricey tho.
This is a fabulous store. Great customer service and wonderful staff. Take your time and explore . So many varieties. Great meat. I love their carne asada. Slap that on the grill and toast some tortillas .
