Pete’s Service Center is a great place for service and repair needs for foreign vehicles. Their professionalism and customer service was experienced from the very first call. Their staff is knowledgeable, experienced, and friendly. They were able to get my vehicle in almost immediately (next morning) for a diagnostic. Shortly thereafter, they provided me with a quote and estimate for my repairs. They replaced my brakes, rotors and wheel bearing on my Range Rover, with my appointment at the dealership still a month and a half out. I will definitely use their services again in the future! Thank you!
I’ve been associated for years with this garage. Some things good, most things bad…who says your car is ready yet even the most obvious of repair requests is incomplete?! Over $14k in ‘repairs’ & still leaks. I’ve given up on the US car repair dept here, it seems they’re better suited for foreign cars. I won’t even get started on the employee turnover associated with this shop. Don’t bother trying to learn names. I’m a unsatisfied former customer.
I would really like to give a great review. Since 2015 I've been taking my vehicles to Pete's for service and the Senior Pete has always been incredibly fair, reasonable, and honest. Unfortunately, since having returned to the Indy area and taken my car in x3 this year already, I cannot state the same for the current management. Just hoping that this last round of "repairs" to my AC at a cost of over 3k now really does the job. Communication was not terrific. Be sure to ask ALL the questions...make NO assumptions and...get a 2nd opinion before committing to any work to be done.
I can't speak to the quality of their work or cost, but this review is about the customer experience. The shop was referred to me by another mechanic who couldn't repair foreign cars. The positive: The folks are very friendly, on the phone and in person. The negative: I had scheduled an appointment for 8am on Monday morning through their website because I had a Check Engine light on. I arrived and checked in at 8:01. The intake person told me it would take about 2 hours for the diagnostic. Since they didn't have a place to sit and wait, I asked if they knew of a coffee shop nearby, and he said there was one about half a mile away, which I believe he was referring to The Human Bean. I left for the coffee shop only to discover it was a drive-thru only, no seating! I walked in the other direction about a mile away to the other nearest coffee shop (Panera). Around 10am I started heading back to the shop, which was about a 25-minutes walk, and assumed the car should be ready by the time I arrived. When I showed up at the shop around 10:25am, I noticed my car looked like it was still parked exactly where I had previously left it, like no one had even looked at it; I had left extra room between the sidewalk and the parking spot, which was how I knew. I asked the person I previously spoke with about the status of the diagnostics. He took the paperwork to the back and came back out telling me "you're next on the list, and it'll take about 4-6 hours more." So essentially, they hadn't even looked at the car as I suspected. I was extremely irritated that they wasted my time as I had several conference calls scheduled for the manic Monday. He offered to drive me somewhere so I could wait, but I told him to cancel the appointment and took back my keys so that I could find another shop for the diagnostic. This was a terrible customer experience, and I would not waste my time there again. If you have a lot of flexibility in your schedule and your time is not important to you, go for it.
These guys charged me $700 to replace a battery in a 12 year old Volvo. Every mechanic I’ve talked to since has said that is BS. The guy at Pete’s told me it had to be programmed. I fell for it. I was out of town for work and I didn’t have time to investigate it and I took them for their word. I’ve had a few other issues that have caused me to doubt their integrity as well. Last time I was there a gentleman remarked that their pricing wasn’t much different than the dealership.
Pete's does a great job in returning a repaired vehicle. I have had a couple things done and am well pleased. My one complaint was I asked to be called when finished. I wanted to pick it up by 2 or 3. I was not called, I called at 3 a d they said it was ready.
I've taken my VW Beetle here for a few years now and they never disappoint. They always do such a thorough job and make sure it's done right. Everyone I talk to during the whole process has great customer service and is polite and timely. Shout out to Ethan on my most recent visit! He helped me understand a tricky issue with my car door and really helped out in getting it fixed.
