Customer Reviews
Camping World RV Sales has a rating of 4.4 out of 5 based on over 1846 reviews on Google
First, I want to acknowledge the prompt and professional response from the Camping World corporate office, which apologized for the poor dealer experience. I also want to commend Camping World of Lakewood, NJ for their outstanding service. Our concerns lie solely with Camping World of Jacksonville, FL, and based on our experience, I would strongly advise against purchasing an RV from that location. While we purchased this vehicle almost a year some unforeseen circumstances prevented me from posting. We placed a deposit on a 2024 Winnebago View on November 4, 2024, with Camping World Jacksonville and scheduled pickup for November 14 with our salesperson, Allysa Long. During the walkthrough, we identified multiple issues: the back of the driver’s seat was detached, the overhead cabinet door needed replacement and had a misaligned lock, the exterior paint was bubbled near the door, the engine compartment was dirty, and the RV required a thorough cleaning. The staff member conducting the walkthrough disappeared midway, leaving us to locate our salesperson ourselves. We had to insist that these issues be addressed. Business Manager Jay Clowers attempted to smooth things over, but the overall experience remained unsatisfactory. Despite the unresolved issues, our salesperson was only concerned with us signing the paperwork. Because of the additional work required, we had to stay overnight in Jacksonville. The dealership did not offer assistance with hotel costs, though they did provide transportation to the hotel. During negotiations, Allysa removed the starter package to reduce the price, which left us without essential items for our return trip to New York. We finalized the purchase on November 15, but that same day, we discovered a significant water leak from the overhead bunk while stopping in Georgia. We contacted Oscar, the service manager in Jacksonville, who advised us to visit any Camping World location for assistance. Fortunately, Theresa Cashwell at Hope Mills Camping World provided excellent service and addressed the issue promptly—though the leak persisted. Every time it rained, water pooled in the overhead bunk. Attempts to reach Alysa Long and Jay Clowers were unsuccessful, as they failed to return our calls but were happy to take our money. When I finally spoke with Terry, who I believe is the General Manager in Jacksonville, he dismissed our concerns, stating the vehicle was fine when it left the dealership. Thankfully, Stefany Lucidi, Service Manager at Camping World Lakewood, NJ, took the RV in for inspection. Her team identified multiple leak points in the overhead bunk and determined the window needed replacement. They successfully repaired the issue and pressure-tested the vehicle to ensure it was resolved. Purchasing an RV is a major investment, and it’s incredibly disappointing to encounter such poor customer service from the Jacksonville location. The lack of communication after the sale, especially the refusal to return calls, was deeply frustrating. If it were an option, we would have returned the RV. I want to express sincere appreciation for Stefany Lucidi at Camping World Lakewood and Amber Mackey from Customer Service. Their professionalism and dedication to resolving our issues exemplify what customer service should be.
I have to say I do enjoy buying the things I need from the store. The cashier was very attentive to my needs and she went to the back and found exactly what I was describing to her because I did not find it on the shelf. As for the service department. This is where it all went very wrong. I do have to say that everyone that I spoke with was always respectful and pleasant. With that said. I brought my 2019 discovery LXE in on 13 March 2025, due to some electrical issues that ended up being the 5 top clearance lights were bad and I was told the Haudralic float for the jacks went bad. I was told the price for repair would be 2694.55 (see paperwork pics) I took the paper work home and found I was being charged 141.10 for the 5 clearance lights and 695.25 for the hydraulic float. I looked up the price of the parts on Rev and lights were 8.55 each and the float was 301.00 I told Hunter to cancel the float repair because they were charging me 695 for a OEM part from Rev that was only 301. (see part pic) He then told me that I may have to pay a return shipping if it had been shipped and I said that was fine. Then Hunter told me I could be charged up to 200 for a restocking fee. I told him to just repair the clearance lights. I was told on or about the 20th that the lights would not be in until the middle of April and I needed to pick up my RV due to the space was needed for other RV's. I picked her up on 21 Mar and took it to another shop on 22 Mar to have the clearance lights replaced. My RV was ready for pick up on 26 Mar. The final price after military discount was 286.88. see pic of receipt. The issue with the light and sounds from the leveling control panel ended up being I was a little low on Hydraulic fliud, that cost 14.00. Camping world was charging for 4 hours of labor to change the lights and I ended up paying for 1 hour of labor. I understand that there can be variations in price from shop to shop but this was not that. This to me was the shop trying to take advantage of parts and labor prices. I eneded up paying Camping World 546.92 for diagnostics. They used 2 hours to diagnose the float on my hydraulic leveling system, and I would like to know why? I don't know the reasoning for the price differences, but I do know that due to this experience I would never take my RV to them again.
We just bought a "new to us" class a motorhome. The staff at camping world was amazing. Special shout out to Jay and Blake for helping make our dreams a reality! We got a 2020 Thor at a fantastic price and can't wait to start our new adventures. Thank you for everything!
My family and I went to camping world in Jacksonville the other weekend and when we got there we were pleasantly surprised! By the time we got through the door we were greeted and got a sales person right away. Mr. Mike Grubbs introduced himself and showed nothing but enthusiasm and willingness to help. He wasn’t your typical sales person just looking for the next sale he actually took initiative to get to know us a little bit and take in all the questions and concerns we had about campers. He showed us multiple units on the lot and gave us a good idea of what e would be getting ourselves into. Although we didn’t leave with a camper this time we will be taking our business there when it is time for us to make a purchase on a camper and we for sure will be asking for Mike!
We had a great experience. Coley was our salesman, he was great to deal with and had no issues. McKenzie the Finance Manager was terrific to work with. Dealing with these two will make your experience worth while. Best experience we have had at any dealership.
Mike did a great job helping us shop for a camper in our budget. He listened to what we wanted, showed us our options, and left the decision up to us. Really appreciate his help!
Drove 8 hours to buy a 2022 camper and when I got there it had so many problems idk how they were even trying to sell it at such a high price. I’m not even sure if humans lived in it because it had more cat scratches than a red head has freckles. So I tried to upgrade to the 24 model since I had already drove a long distance for something they could have told me was not in great condition over the phone because they made sure not to put all the flaws in the pictures and video. The price was 16,900, but somehow came out to 22,900 for the 2024. We couldn’t agree on a price which came down to a few hundred dollars. After everything I think it’s pretty crazy to not make a sale over that amount when I’ve already drove that far and came way more out of my budget because I wasn’t given the details on how bad of shape the camper was I wanted which left me with upgrading or getting nothing.. if you’re driving any distance to come here I’d be very cautious on what exactly you’re getting.
