I have been a Best Buy customer for decades, beginning in Texas and continuing through my years in Manhattan at the Fifth Avenue, Lincoln Center, and Bryant Park locations. I recently moved to Hoboken, and the Jersey City store is now the closest to me. I visited to purchase a new TV, two TV mounts, and an Oura Ring. I was dealing with an account update after the move, and the Best Buy app did not complete the transaction, so I went to the store to handle it directly. Yanakо assisted me. He understood the situation immediately and guided the purchase from start to finish. He verified my identification, accessed the account, processed the full transaction, and coordinated the retrieval of every item. His pace was steady, organized, and confident. What stood out was the care he showed while moving the items. He arranged the TV, mounts, and accessories carefully and helped load them into my car with attention to both the equipment and the vehicle. He balanced speed with precision, communicating clearly throughout the process. His presence and focus showed responsibility and maturity in his role. This is the kind of employee who strengthens a store’s reputation. His work reflects competence, consideration, and efficiency. I will continue using this store for future purchases, and I recognize the value of staff like Yanakо who bring professionalism and attentiveness to customer service. He deserves acknowledgment and advancement.
Please do yourself a favor and don’t ever ever purchase a TV from Best Buy, especially if it’s their Insignia brand. After a little over a month of owning a brand new TV the backlight stopped working. I called their warranty department and they told me my only option was to drive to the nearest Best Buy location which isn’t close to where I live. I had to carry the big Tv, put in my car and drive all the way to this Jersey city location. Once I arrived I was informed by their Geek Squad team that they need to send it to another location for repair and it’ll take over a week. And once it’s ready they cannot ship it back to me, I need to drive to the Best Buy location once again to pick it up. It’s very inconvenient and a waste of time not to mention the questionable quality of their products. In addition, I would stay away from their Geek Squad team because I’ve never had a positive experience with them. If you need support for an Apple product for instance, just take it directly to an Apple Store. In the future I will not make the same mistake again. I will pay a little more and stay away from Best Buy and their products! I saw many reviews saying bad things about out their Insignia TVs but I didn’t listen.
This was the worst experience I have ever had, and if I could have given zero stars, I would have. I bought an 85-inch TV as an open-box item and drove from Fairview, NJ, to their location in Jersey City, which was a 40-minute drive. Since I was buying such a large TV, I rented a U-Haul truck to avoid damaging it. I even made sure to bring blankets and pillows for extra protection. However, when I arrived, I was told to wait because they needed to get the TV from the warehouse. When they finally brought it out, it was completely covered, and I wasn't given a chance to inspect it. I was simply told to load it into my vehicle. After driving the 40 minutes back home to Edgewater, NJ, I discovered the TV was damaged upon opening the packaging. The corner of the screen had a leakage-type line running down it. Additionally, all the stickers had been torn off, leaving residue all over the TV. The actual casing of the TV wouldn't even stay together, resulting in gaps between the case and the screen all around. When I called the store to explain the issue and express my frustration, instead of addressing it themselves, they transferred me to customer service. I asked customer service if a replacement could be arranged, but the only option they offered was an out-of-state pickup, stating that I would have to pick it up myself since the original order was for in-store pickup. This was incredibly disappointing because it meant I would have to return the damaged TV myself instead of them arranging a pickup. When I inquired about shipping a replacement to me, they offered no solution. This is far from the best customer service experience I've ever had. Neither the store nor customer service was willing to work with me to find a solution or even offer some form of compensation for the U-Haul rental, which I now have to use twice because I have to physically return the damaged TV since they won't pick it up.
Absolutely disgusting support. I mean ABSOLUTELY. I bought the dji stabilizer on July 4, 2025. I opened the box after 3 days (July 7). There were two pieces of accessories missing (phone holder and mini camera), which made the device completely useless for me. After that there were just HOURS of absolutely useless correspondence with their support. Just hours, time after time, you give them ALL the information and they chase you around in circles asking you back what you've already told them multiple times. I'm in Miami right now, I spoke to the manager of the local Best Buy and she explained to me that I have to go back to Jersey and show my item there, since their system doesn't allow you to see the purchase from the Jersey store. But I'm just a tourist, I'm not going back to Jersey anymore and I'll just have to stay with the product I was sold without a complete package. I ABSOLUTELY do not recommend ANYONE to use the services of this great, but absolutely stupid store. They sold me a product without a complete kit, after which their support spent many hours of my time completely useless. If you have any chance at all, buy anywhere but from them. I would have been fine with refusing to replace the product, but they spent hours wasting my time over and over again asking the same questions with absolutely zero results. I've written to them everywhere - the result is the same. JUST BUY IT SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Store consistently proves at terrible its customer service is every day. Management continues to walk around while lines form. Literally one person behind register and all employees and management walk around store as if they have something else better to do than their job?
This is honestly the worst Best Buy I’ve ever been to in the whole country. The staff are terrible, they just try to scam you. They keep pushing their credit card, saying you’ll "get 10% bonus" or "save money," but they never explain the APR or the hidden charges. They’ll distract you with offers and then overcharge you. Totally dishonest people avoid this store completely.
Excellent customer service the geek squad. Plan is the absolute best thing I ever did. I’ve had appliances delivered and installed for free every time I bring in my personal computer they are able to fix it. Updated and take care of all the bugs. Excellent service highly recommended.
