MORTON WILLIAMS SUPERMARKETS

6.7

Morton Williams Supermarkets in Jersey City provides extended operating hours, which can be convenient for those with tight schedules. The store maintains a generally tidy appearance and inventory is typically well-stocked. However, it's noted that the pricing structure can be inconsistent, and occasionally higher than comparable retailers in the area.

Customers seeking a comprehensive and budget-friendly grocery experience might find that alternative options provide more value. The overall impression is one of functional convenience, though some aspects of the staff interaction and pricing transparency could benefit from improvement. A focused approach to produce quality is also suggested.

This place is great in a pinch, given that they close much later than other stores. Everything is always well shelved and available. However, their prices are outrageous. Other stores, like Target, Acme and even Whole Foods in the immediate area are much more affordable for the exact same items (brand and size). You definitely feel the pain at the register if you go there for regular grocery shopping.

Here’s what you can expect 🙂 Food is covered in flies, most meat is rancid and just a few hours from expiration, and to add a cherry to the top; the staff is just miserable. The last picture is actually a section of the store that is hidden behind a wall which I found hilarious. It’s all quite laughable

Always fake price, I live in this Newport community and this store always provides you 2 price, one at the shelf, one at the checkout. GUESS WHICH ONE IS HIGHER? When I asked them why there’s 2 prices this time, they said "I don’t know, I just scan the barcode". Very lovely reason. Another thing, if you use any online grocery delivery app (Ub**, Instac***), you would usually find out the final price (including tips) are lower than this store. Also the quality of fruits/vegies, iykyk. I would only suggested everyone come to this store if it’s an emergency.

First time ever been to a Morton Williams. Seems well managed, clean, relatively well organized. Surprisingly it was hard to find energy bars, asked a cashier, who didn't look too happy and impatiently pointed to "the cooler." Huh? The cooler? For energy bars? I asked, "the cooler?" She confirmed yes. Since, as I said above, she didn't seem in a good mood so I didn't bother asking again. To no one's surprise, there were no energy bars in the cooler Another guy I was going to ask right before her also very quickly said coldly said "I'm not open" as I was approaching and as he was closing the check out lane. I was slightly taken aback because I hadn't uttered a single word, but I suppose it was fair for him to say that because I already had some items in my basket. Anyway, this was 9:10pm on a Saturday so obviously these folks were just itching to get the hell out of there, as anyone I would Even though I understood it, it still did lead to mildly unsatisfying shopping experience, even though later, after I had given up looking for energy bars, I finally found them right at the beginning of the check out line I was using. And yes, it was the line with the young woman telling me they were in the cooler

Nice store in the Newport area with a lot of options and nicely arranged. This store is definitely expensive than most but as convenient as well. Everything is well arranged and lots of options for the Frozen section which you won't get to see at other locations. It has a bakery section and a food section where you get prepared Indian meals as well.

The baked goods and produce are very good. There is a large international food selection since the surrounding buildings tend to draw young people from around the world. You can buy hot chocolate from a stand beside the front entrance and drink it at the comfortable very large seating area beside the front windows. Two hours of parking in the attached garage can be validated with purchase at checkout.

The hours are great and it has a wide selection but it’s more expensive than other grocery stores by a lot. And if you order through a third party like uber eats, it’s hiked up beyond what it already is in store. Still, it has a large assortment of food including cooked meals, fresh seafood and pastries. It’s good if you need something in a pinch and it’s open pretty late (1 am I believe).
