They are known for their expansive inventory of cameras and lenses, providing a substantial resource for both amateur and professional photographers seeking specialized gear. Staff expertise seems to be a key differentiator, with reports suggesting knowledgeable assistance for those exploring options.
While the store offers a convenient location for camera sales and potentially printing services, pricing appears to be a factor for some. Amazing camera store in Lakewood. I walked in and the store was massive, and after talking for a bit they helped me find a good lens. Very helpful and nice staff and good store for photography.
Everytime I go in here I come and talk a storm with the sales guys I forget their name, but the two older white gentleman lol. They are very knowledgeable and always friendly. I spoke with Roger a lot about the UHS II cards and they carried the promaster brand. The cards performed in every aspect with all my tests and in this last weekends elopement I shot. The cards were just as described by the sales guys. Thanks again!
They have lots of options for cameras for sale, prices are hiked up in my opinion. Their "trade in" values don't seem fair at all, better chance selling your stuff on Ebay. I have tried taking 2 separate cameras here for repair on different occasions, both times they looked at the camera for half a minute and denied repair saying they couldn't do it and it would have to be sent in and it wouldn't be worth the time or money. I asked if they could simply clean one of my cameras as well, and they denied me stating that again it would need to be sent in and be expensive and time consuming. I was confused because on their website they offer "repairs and cleaning" but I don't know what kind of repairs or cleaning they do when they have only denied me on 3 separate occasions???
Back in March, I picked up a new DSLR and needed lenses. I went to the store once where there was somebody actually there and they gave me a price that was much higher than advertised at Nikon. Later on come to find out that they gave me the wrong price. I ended up buying my lens through Nikon and I had gone back several times for different lenses. Each time either there was nobody available, or they didn’t have the product I was looking for. Looking for the tripod I ran into the same thing as well as the camera bags and straps. By the time I finished purchasing things from one online store and two other, not so local camera shops in PNW, I decided to pick up a mirror camera to go with my kit. They did not have the mirror less camera I was looking for which was a very popular one and I wanted it That day, so I had to go somewhere else. Today I was looking for a lens, since I bought the last four lenses for the mirrorless camera in Seattle, I was really hoping to get one that was closer and this shop is literally seven minutes away. I have been calling them six times so far and it keeps rolling back to the recording where you ask for sales. I’ve been calling since 2:00 PM and they’re not closed until early this evening. So, once again right before the holiday I’m going to have to drive all the way up to Seattle or to Kenmore to pick up a Lens that I may or may not be able to get From Robi’s Lakewood camera. Honestly, it’s very frustrating and back in the day when I used to work with film cameras, This was the best place to go. I guess as times have changed, so has the availability of product and Customer Service.
I have used Robis for years to do all my print work. For the first time I used their framing services and am very happy with the results.
Thanks Jay for all the help getting my camera setup and checked out. So excited to try out the new lens. Great used prices!
Robi’s Lakewood Camera was my local film lab for over 3 years. The staff is very knowledgeable, personable, and kind. In addition to having quick turn around time for development and scanning, they were able to repair an old family camera. Shout out to Tom, Jay, and the customer service desk folks!
