Best customer service from Kyle. Very knowledgeable, really nice, and he made a suggestion to help protect battery life in the future. I upgraded my battery to a mid-range quality and paid the difference, after having two of the 18 month battery go bad on me before the end of the warranty period. They did honor the warranty both times.
Title: Warranty Refused — Terrible Service, Ruined Time & Money I’m furious and fed up. My son brought in a battery under warranty and Interstate Batteries of Clearwater flat-out refused to honor it. They told him there was "nothing wrong" — yet he had to jump the car 4 separate times in just two days. That’s not a coincidence. Not trusting that answer, we took it over to Big Tires & More, where they ran a parasite draw test and conclusively determined the battery was bad. In other words: the problem was real — and they refused to acknowledge it. This location’s staff were dismissive, lazy, and uninterested in doing the right thing. They made excuses rather than standing behind their product or warranty. I guarantee I’ll never recommend or return here — and anyone considering this location should think twice.
I hate to leave bad reviews however this place deserves it. Last set of interstates I will ever buy. They avoid their warranty until it expires. 3/25 I brought two batteries in both tested bad cells on a liquid tester. They told me nothing was wrong with the batteries because they tested fine on a hand held voltage tester. One more month they were out of warranty. 7/25 I purchased a set of new batteries for a different vehicle. One month later they both were flat. I did a liquid test on these one bad cells in each. I brought to the warehouse. Same results. I was told liquid testing was a thing of the past and my battery’s were fine. He also blamed it on the vehicle charging system. I failed to tell him we use solar chargers to maintain while sitting. The vehicle charges at 13.5v. But what do I know just a dumb customer it seems. In conclusion I’ve purchased interstates for 30 years!! This was the last set I will buy. Deka will be my new battery of choice with 3 times the warranty, better customer service at only %10 more cost.
Do not buy an Interstate battery unless you live in the Largo area…that is the only "Warranty" location in the area! My new boat came with interstate batteries… I knew one of the three batteries used with a trolling motor was not holding a charge… I called numerous facilities to see if they would warranty this battery and found out that only the Largo location on 66th St. would take care of this battery. I had tried to charge it a number of times and it would not hold a charge. I live in South Tampa I’m 71 years old and taking a marine battery out of a boat at my age is no small task and then carrying it to my vehicle and driving to Largo, added to my issues. I thought they would give me a new battery… My battery was 9/24 And was still under warranty. The not so friendly man at the front desk stated that I had to leave the battery for 24 hours so they could charge it. The next day I came back to their location. He told me it was fully charged and there was one slight abnormality, but overall the battery was good and I was not to get a Replacement. I drove back to South Tampa reinstalled the battery in my boat and within 24 hours the battery was dead again….the other 2 trolling motor batteries remained fully charged…so the boat was not draining the battery. I can’t tell you how angry I am… I feel like I was taken advantage of… And will never buy an interstate battery again!
They are good to work with even when money tight i found a nice refurbished battery that lasted me almost 5 years sub 50 bucks

If you need a reliable battery with excellent customer service, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!
In order to post this.. you have to select a star. I have an interstate battery that is under warranty. Spoke with a very rude customer service rep. I told him what I had been going through for the past 2 days to start my vehicle. Had to put it on a battery charger. Customer rep stated they would test the battery and if they found it was not holding a charge I would have to remove the battery out of the vehicle and they would have to keep the battery for testing purposes. I cannot be without a vehicle for 24 hours. I ended up having to purchase a battery from Advance Auto. He tested the battery and stated the battery needs replaced. He removed the battery. And installed a new battery. He waived the the $22.00 and gave me back my original dead interstate battery. Interstate battery warranty information does not State they have to keep the battery for 24 hours. Customer service was very rude. And I have filed a claim against your warranty policy.
