Customer Reviews
Boulder RV Service Center has a rating of 2.7 out of 5 based on over 49 reviews on Google
Protect your investment. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE EVEN IF YOU ARE DESPERATE. I generally hesitate to review a business on here, always lean towards trying to directly resolve an issue knowing the impact a review can leave on a business down the road but I honestly have never encountered business practices like this before and feel the public should be aware of the business owner's lack of professionalism and willingness to make things right. His staff even admitted they made the mistake, but he would not own it and wanted to argue the result instead of offer a resolution. We had a new toilet installed in our camper at the end of last year after winterizing the lines and preparing it for the colder months. This was not our first visit for service - we had initially gone in for an overall check up when we first purchased the camper a few months prior to ensure everything was working properly. We obviously didn't use the RV at all over winter after having the toilet installed. Fast forward to us prepping for our first outing of the year this month, not one but ALL of the water lines had burst within our camper. After calling Boulder RV to see what would have caused this after it being in their care, they claimed we declined the "winterization" service. We invested a lot into purchasing and maintaining our investment in the first year of ownership, it would have been nice for a "trusted" business to take the same caution and care and let us know what was in their fine print at the time of service, the winterization should not be optional if YOU THE BUSINESS are putting water back into the system. The front desk people owned the mistake but in both instances of talking to John the owner, he just wanted to argue and charge us another $1300 to replace the damaged lines. I would use YouTube tutorials before bringing your investment to this clown.
I took my Aliner pop up trailer to the Longmont location for a system checkup. I specifically stated that I needed a new battery because mine was running out of life. Then I had to revisit them 3 more times as they couldn't get the battery working, although each time told me it was good to go. They even charged me an additional $200 for more work which still didn't fix the problem. The owner even had the nerve to tell me that I had been doing everything wrong and that is why it didn't work (worked perfectly for me the two years previously). When the technician walked me through the issues, it definitely was their fault for installing the wrong fuses. I still have electrical issues with the trailer due to them messing with it but I refuse to bring it back. Not to mention they disconnected my heater and never reconnected it. Just left the wires hanging out and the controller on the bed. And never put the water plugs back on so I had to go purchase new ones. They don't know, own trailers, or use trailers/RVs but pretend to know everything there is to know about them. They don't return phone calls or emails if there are problems. I would avoid this place and go somewhere with more RV/trailer knowledge. If you do go there, request Krystal as she was knowledgeable once they finally had her look at it.
I don't have enough experience with pricing with other shops so I don't really know how these guys compare there, but I never felt like it was much too high. The work has completed as expected and in a time frame that's fair. Pretty much all you can ask for there. I'm surprised by the negative reviews- I've had my camper trailer serviced here for 4 or 5 times now and have not had a bad experience. I didn't give a full 5 stars because I just don't have anything else to compare it to.
Don’t go here. I hope to save you some trouble, time, and money after being totally ripped off. Terrible customer service across the board from owner to technicians. Before and after service is like hitting a wall both in person and on the phone. Literally these folks are hustlers. They charged for work they didn’t do and did work that wasn’t asked for. They don’t call you while your RV is in the shop to ok the work so you can decide if it’s something you can afford or really want them to do. They don’t keep records on assessments they have done in the past either so if you loose the paperwork in between the assessment and wanting to complete work they will recharge you for another assessment. This shop is like going into a weird post apocalyptic vortex of Mad Max where all kindness is sucked out of the world and replaced with greed.
I really hate to give a one star review to any business but I am going to have to this time to let potential customers know what they are up against. I had suspension work done on my trailer. Had I not done a thorough inspection afterwards, it could’ve been a catastrophe driving down the road at 60 miles an hour. One nut on a suspension bolt was just sitting at the top of the threads ready to fall off. After finding that I decided to pull the hubcaps off and check the lug nuts and found one lug nut with the nut also just sitting at the top of the threads.
I went here to have an inline strainer replaced and to fix a cracked sewage pipe. The inline strainer replacement went fine and I was charged a fair price. However, I was charged $40 in parts for them to patch up my sewage pipe using an epoxy. The job took at most thirty minutes for them to complete, then the epoxy took an hour to dry. Note that there wasn't any labor being performed during the drying stage. However, I was still charged for it. I was charged an hour and a half for labor at $120 per hour for this job. The sewage pipe continued to leak about one month after the service was rendered. In all, I was dissatisfied with the quality of the work and the price. I will not be returning to this place.
Mechanic didn’t understand the systems in my RV. Could not locate drains and pump switch. I assisted, because I understand the unit. 45 minutes to dewinterize, which was not completed. First quoted $140 on phone then reduced to $120. I was charged an additional $120. for assisting because the clerk behind the counter called it training! Would not entrust my unit to this place. Don’t know what they’re doing.
