United States Cold Storage - McClellan Park

I had a really good experience at this pickup location for trucks. The staff was professional, respectful, and made the process smooth. One of the biggest advantages here is that they allow early check-in before your appointment, which is a huge help for drivers trying to stay ahead of schedule. Just keep in mind that even though they let you in early, loading can take a little time, so be prepared to wait a bit before they assign you a dock. A few important things to know before you arrive: • You MUST have your appointment number ready. They won’t check you in without it, so make sure you have it handy when you arrive. • If you’re hauling a reefer, make sure it’s pre-cooled to -10°F. They’ll check the temperature before assigning you a dock. • When you arrive, stop a little before the gate instead of pulling right up. There’s limited space, and if you block the gate, it can cause delays for other trucks and yourself. The yard is well organized, and there’s plenty of room to maneuver. Once they assign you a dock, the loading is done professionally. The staff communicates clearly, and the paperwork process is smooth. There’s some space to park while you wait to get loaded, and the facility overall is clean and efficient. I appreciated that they made the effort to check me in early and respected my time, even though I had to wait a bit. Overall, a very decent place to pick up from. I’d definitely return here again. Just follow the guidelines, be patient, and you’ll have a stress-free experience.

This company does things a bit different with the check in process, so here's my instructions for newbies so you can avoid the eye rolls and the disappointed sighs. Step 1. The truck entrance, there's a line of parked trucks, even if it looks like people are sleeping, they're not, they're in line. Step 2. Park behind truck parked/pick a lane to park in but make sure to leave one open for cars and ems services, even if the damn entry point says no parking...(override it) Step 3. Get out of parked truck and walk to security guard shack to check in, make sure to have load number, mine started with a 128*** and is a 6 digit number. Step 4. Follow security guard instructions.

Overall I had a positive experience this morning picking up a load. Make sure to park your truck and then walk up to the security guard shack to check in. I checked in about 1.5 hours early, and immediately got a door. Tandems to the back and remove the red air line. I then checked into the receiving office. Clear instructions, after getting loaded and once the red light turns to green check back in for the paperwork. Once I signed my BOL'S I was on my way to deliver my load. I spent a total of 4 hours from the time that I arrived and the time that I departed. Nice to get detention pay once in a while.

Whenever I get a load to this place, I know I’ll be greeted with a smile, enjoy a great cup of coffee, and relax in a massage chair while they unload me. Unfortunately, they unload so fast that I don’t get to enjoy it all to the fullest! Thank you guys, you’re the best!

It’s always a hit and miss when delivering here I’ve been empty at this place within 30 minutes, but I’ve also been here for six hours other than that 1-2 hours max waiting. I’ll still give them a five star.

By far the Best U.S Cold Storage! Great people! Kudos the Management! Drivers please keep Driver lounge and bathroom clean.
