Good & Poor... They had the exact battery I wanted, good! Employee attitude poor! I wanted a replacement battery for the hand set for my very old cordless home phone, and yes, I still have a land line. I had the owner's manual and showed the battery specifications to the employee. Without having to look he said he had that exact replacement battery, walked to the wall display, and retrieved a battery. I checked the specifications shown on the battery against the owner's manual designated specifications and they matched. Good job! He knows his inventory. On the downside, his eyes, facial expression, body language, and tone of voice all said the he really did not want to be there. I rank 'people' highest in what I remember about any interaction. Hence, the three stars.
Very best customer service I have received in a long time! They were very patient and helpful in getting a new battery for flip-phone and then when that did not fix the problem - they ordered a new phone and set it up for me. Went above and beyond in many ways for an elderly person having trouble with the technologies.
My suggestion is that you do not do business with this company. I purchased an Odyssey battery from this store, and within a year it went bad. When not in use, the battery was kept on a maintainer supplying float charge per Odyssey's requirements. I brought it to Battery World, and was told that it needed to be tested before they could file a warranty claim with Odyssey. Over a week later, I called Odyssey (EnerSys), and was told that all that was actually needed for a warranty claim was a test result from anywhere that tests batteries. I had Battery World use their Odyssey tester, and provide the failed test results so I could handle the warranty claim directly with Odyssey - This place had already wasted enough of my time. The owner was there when I came to collect my battery, and was smugly not concerned with my complaints on how long the battery was at his store not getting dealt with properly, or that this was the second battery I had purchased with Battery World. The owner even shifted the blame to Odyssey, stating that they are difficult to deal with for warranty claims. Now, I would not even purchase a watch battery from this place. 2 stars for the poor employees that have to put up with the owner of this place. I hope they find better places to work.
I needed a replacement battery for my CyberPower UPS. I went to Battery World in Metairie, LA where I was delighted with the service. First, they had a supply of batteries for my device. They were a bit more expensive than online vendors, but I decided the convenience outweighed the slight cost difference. When I got the battery home, I could not figure out how to remove the wires from the old battery. I went back to Battery World and Jason (the person whose name is on my receipt) quickly opened the case, grabbed onto the wires connected to the old battery and yanked them off. He then installed the new battery, tried out the UPS to make sure it was working, and I was out the door in about 3 minutes. I'm a very satisfied customer and will return to Battery World when I need batteries, especially specialty ones.
They are always very helpful. Knowledgeable about all kinds of batteries and are very nice people.
PLEASE READ ENTIRE MESSAGE to understand the 1-star rating December 4, Wednesday 10:36 am - I called for a laptop battery for Dell G3 3590 (not in stock) - The employee had to order the battery for delivery - My credit card payment was processed over the phone - I was told the battery should arrive by Friday, Dec 6th December 6, Friday 9:00 am - I called to check on my battery delivery status - I was told their physical book that contained order and customer information "got soaked," and all the information was lost (my order was not made) - I was told they were waiting for customers to call them to re-collect order and customer information - I gave them all the information again - I was told my battery could be rush-ordered to arrive on Saturday, Dec 7, or in the worst case, it would arrive on Monday, Dec 9 December 9, Saturday Around 2:00 pm - I arrived at the store to check on my battery delivery status (has not arrived) - I was told the battery would be delivered on Tuesday, December 10th (previously Monday "worst case") December 10, Tuesday 8:47 am - I called to check on the status of my battery (I spoke to the owner) - He took my phone number to check the orders (he could not see my order) - He told me another person placed the order, and he would need to speak to him to get information about my battery (he needs to call me back) - The employee that took my order called me back at 9:13 am, and told me my battery would arrive by 9:00 PM - He then told me "knowing the delivery guy" it wouldn't arrive until the following day (Wednesday). I said ok and ended the call. - I called back at 9:28 am to cancel the order and have a refund issued. - I was then told I had to go into the store to swipe my card to get a refund - Once there (around 9:50 am) I had a refund issued and was told by the owner, "Sorry it didn't work out" In summary: I waited nearly one week to get my battery (which never came) My order was not placed even after my payment was processed. I checked back multiple times and was given inaccurate dates and times for delivery. I was forced to be physically present at the store for a refund. They took 0% responsibility. I'm ultimately happy I don't have to deal with them anymore. I hope this review helps someone else not deal with the stress of not having their computer for a week. I'm not surprised they have so many 1-star ratings, but i am surprised they are still in business.
Another great experience at this store! The employees and manager are so helpful and knowledgeable. I needed my iPhone13 battery changed and they had me all fixed up in less than 30 minutes. I will definitely be recommending.
