Milwaukee PC - Downtown Milwaukee

Feel free to go here if you love wasting your time and money. I originally brought my laptop in August 29 because it wouldn't work unless it was plugged in. They assessed me an $80 labor fee and told me it would be a bit of a wait because of the holiday - ok, cool! Well, actually, not cool. Three weeks pass, so I call and ask about my laptop. They said they forgot to order a new battery. Another week passes, and this time, I go and see them in person. They said, again, they forgot to order a new battery. Finally, they call me the following week. I picked up my laptop on October 9 - a whole 41 days and $200 later - just to discover today that the original issue still isn't fixed. Both of the employees I met are polite enough, but evidently incompetent and inconsiderate where it really matters. Doesn't seem like a viable way to run a business. I would rather go literally anywhere else than come back here.

Tim was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He helped me diagnose my system lagging issues by recommending a purchase of a new laptop with a faster processor, in lieu of the memory upgrade on my existing laptop I thought I needed. It ended up meaning a higher upfront cost, but thanks to the Black Friday special and the improved performance of my new Milwaukee PC branded system, it's proving to save me money in the long run by solving my issue.

I'm a total nerd when it comes to PC parts and accessories and I love this place. Off the top of my head, I know how much certain parts and accessories should cost around and this place is always spot on. I also find that the people who work there are knowledgeable and nice. Also, I personally prefer going here for PC stuff over online retailers for a bunch of reasons. Authenticity is one, as I've purchased an expensive new router in the past only for it to arrive with not only a power adapter that lost a fight to a cat at some point (deep marks in the plastic), but it was the wrong voltage (so, damaged, and completely useless to the router lol). Another issue with ordering pc stuff from a huge online giant is that when it actually gets delivered, as in it wasn't left at the wrong address or stolen, it gets thrown down on the ground too roughly for it's packaging to absorb too often. I mean, PC hardware can't take the same impact as a pack of socks can, but most likely will. So yeah, glad Milwaukee PC is where it is!

Manager has Clutter issues, but great to have a computer store in the neighborhood! He makes it work, friendly service, and most likely they have what you need. Not thrilled about some young people smoking weed in front of the store, so I went around the block on my e-bike, they commented on how cool my fat tires are.

Nice people and good knowledge. Just obviously pretty overpriced, cases/other items were $30-$40 more than at micro center or other stores. Wanted $50 and 3 days to flash a bios (which takes about 3 minutes btw) I’m all for supporting small local business, but there has to be a trade off. Pay more for a convenience or something like that. But there’s nothing convenient about paying $50 and waiting 3 days for something that takes 3 minutes. Ordered a cpu off of Amazon got it delivered in 1 day and returned it. Easier, faster, and cheaper.

DO NOT GO HERE! To start off the experience they did not notify me that my laptop was ready until I called almost two weeks later. I then went into pick up my laptop and a very young (middle-school age) girl checked me out. I was just about to pay and I decided to check everything out and make sure it worked. I'm glad I did because the SAME problem of an unresponsive screen happened. They changed the entire screen which costs $180. Not to mention it looked like they glued parts of my laptop back together with Elmer's glue. I went back in the next day to pick it up after they called and told me they fixed the "second problem" for free. After seeing that the laptop worked I was so annoyed with the whole experience I stupidly paid the $180 dollars and left. I got home and come to find out they broke my charger as well! I have never written a review in my life but I feel very strongly about this. He has his young daughter doing all the work (which is screwed up too) and then doesn't compensate for his own mistakes.

My computer flipped to tablet mode, not sure how. all my things worked on the computer, but not a configuration i wanted to use. I took it into the downtown Milwaukee PC expecting to have to have leave it behind, but the knowledgeable staff fixed it for me in 5 minutes and did not charge me for it. I have used Milwaukee PC over the years and i continue to be loyal because of this outstanding customer service.
