Southern Bama Bait & Tackle

I used to always come there for fresh mullet for bait. When i I went recently and purchased some it was $3.98 each. They were so small that they gave me 2 two = one, but the 2 did not even 1 small mullet , it was ridiculous. I will not be going there again. The door has changed hands And now it's owned by foreigners.

They charged me 8 bucks a dozen for shrimp, never been back…

So I'm not happy. ONE⭐️ because you can't give ZERO. Bought "LIVE" worms from Southern Bama on DIP. Get baby's fishing gear all set and ready to go, open the container of "30 LARGE RED WORMS" Not only are they NOT large they are dead, they've been dead so long they literally fall apart at a touch!!!!! And unless they had actually turned into the dirt they were in, there is NO WAY there were 30 to being with, much less LARGE. I pack up, take them BACK to the store, the woman *owner* says you checked them.? I said NO. I asked you where the live worms are, you showed me. Why would I ? you? So get refund and she PUT THEM BACK FOR SALE!!!! KNOWING THEY ARE DEAD!!!! I will never return. The ONLY nice thing about the store was the female employee that was on break, she was very polite. Wish she had a better place to work though.

Wanted to purchase simple crab traps and expose my grandsons to part our coastal environment. I anticipated the old fashioned family fun of my youth with learning environmental stewardship appropriate for a three and six year old. To my shock, $5.00 for a simple old fashioned drop net that cost $1.19 in most markets definitely put my faith in fairness at a loss for words. We all understand the dire situation of our current economic crisis, but this was beyond an inventory increase for survival. It was blatantly an opportunistic cost increase of greed.

Nice little place. Stopped in for coffee while on a bike ride. They have a Keurig, all sorts of flavors for coffee. Friendly, helpful owners. I got the French Vanilla coffee and some of those small Grandma’s cookies —the peanut butter kind. It’s just another day (for you and me) in paradise.

I have shopped at southern bama for many years and they have always treated me like family and with the utmost respect! I can't say enough they are the best store on dauphin Island parkway.
