I wasn’t going to post a review but after my experience moving out of my unit this past Friday, I find it best to make future customers aware. I had been using Cube Smart for about 6 months(before they changed companies) and had no issues with them until about 3 months in when I discovered a mice infestation. I figured it was inevitable and had no problem cleaning my unit because it didn’t appear to be a huge problem. The problem only got worse. I had mice droppings in almost all of my things and clothes which even reeked of mice urine. After bringing it to the attention of one of the store members, the only thing that was offered was moving to a new unit WHICH I would’ve had to pay movers to assist me with due to the amount of stuff I had. I just moved out of my unit this past Friday and they gave me the hardest time with pro rating my unit space. The woman who seemed to be new asked several invasive questions and was just overall very rude. My movers who were there helping me even mentioned her nasty attitude. Instead of trying to compensate me or rectify THEIR problem with the mice infestation, I was made to feel guilty for her having to do her job which she clearly didn’t know how to do. They even had the audacity to go up in their rental rate despite the clear issues that several customers seem to be having. The place is disgusting and please believe nothing will ever be done once you attempt to address any issues.
The building is clean and well lit. Access is easy with the app. Using the sliding doors and elevators is very tiresome when unloading a lot of furniture. The building doesn't seem as secure as I initially thought. The garage door was open after hours when I passed by later. People are walking in looking for a bathroom. The elevators and sliding door need a time adjustment. The doors close too fast to move anything.
Had a space at a good price. So far parking and carts have been no problem. Do wish they had signs at the aisle corners to make it easier to M find you way to and from the elevators and your unit.
I’m a new resident of New Orleans. Happy to be I. The city. I neede storage for my belongings while I get settled and wanted something close to where I now live. I went to Cube Smart because I’ve been a customer before . This particular facility is SPOTLESS! Looks shiny new actually. Michael at the desk was so helpful in helping me choose right size unit. Paperwork was done effect. This facility shines as an example of the brand!
It’s a storage facility I have been using my whole college career in Nola. The prices are always decent if not low! Rates barely change so don’t worry. The staff look tired but truly understanding and nice. If you need to negotiate they have good staff look. Definitely get climate control even if you think you don’t need it. Just cover your belongings to reduce the usual storage unit smell! Other than that 10/10 recommend. The second smallest unit can hold a queen bed, 7 large black and yellow bins from Home Depot, a mini fridge, and you’ll still have room left over.
Reserved 2 10x20 units through the call center, but when I got to the office to get the keys one was only a 10x10. When I pointed out that it was a square he argued with me and said it just looked small. So we looked at the other unit and it was the correct size, but it still had someone else’s stuff in it. It took a very long time for him to switch the paperwork to give us another 12x20. Then when we went back with a lot to store, they advised that the paperwork was wrong and had to be redone. Everything was made right be it was so much more painful than it should have been. People behind the desk were nice, but did not seem knowledgeable about what they were doing.
The craziest experience I had ever a storage this far. I rented the storage on Aug 7th when I first got there no one was in the office to service me I waited outside for about a good 15-20 mins before someone came. When they finally unlocked the door & got back in the office the guy told me "oh you have to come back tomm we don’t rent this late". Had yall been in the office I would’ve been done it. Moving along, I still was able to rent it & he told me it was mandatory for a lock! Never asked if I have my own or anything so I had to purchase a $21.99 lock that I didn’t need , I called customer service to see if it’s okay to bring it back they said yes they will refund you. I get back to the store not even 48hrs later. The store manager Tawana tells me "we don’t return or do refunds on locks" , I advised her customer service told me to bring it back & yall will the lock never been touched or open. She then proceeds to call Gerald advising him "her draw will be short again if she refund me for my lock that I paid in full w cash for." Gerald told her the lock has to be returned "within 24 hrs" so now I asked where is that in the policy bc this isn’t my first time renting there , which I knew that shit wasn’t true! I calls customer service back they said I would have to speak w the district manager I told them that was fine "I’m still waiting to hear from the general manager "! 30 mins after I left the store she calls me back saying she can refund me come back to the store! I get there now she saying oh it’s not giving me the option we’ll have to mail you a check , which I was confused bc I paid cash! Not w a check or a card! So she’s still unable to refund me once I got there WHICH IS NOW WAISTING MY TIME!!! So I still don’t have my refund & still waiting to speak w the district manger! This was the most unprofessional experience I’ve had! I will never be renting again once this lease is up!
