Hands down this was the best and most helpful employees I’ve seen other than a high end retailer. Every employee that passed spot and asked if I needed assistance. And also thanked me for shopping with them. Homedepot Bullard I-10 service road. New Orleans.

On May 5th 2025 I picked up an 8 ft sliding patio door and installed it. I custom ordered it to size and I included it to have a handle and keyed lock. I went back to the store after realizing the door I just installed didn't have the handle or keyed lock to get help on several occasions. I spoke with at least two assistant managers, the store manager and a millwork specialist to help me get the right handle or to replace the moving panel and send it the way I ordered it. To no avail the company sent a worthless key cylinder. I then asked to speak to the district manager but he never tried to reach out to me. After weeks I received and email from a representative of plygem asking me for information which I replied. Plygem manufactured the patio I installed and assured me he would help. After I replied and replied and replied, I received another email from another person from plygem asking for more information. Of which I replied. She started the process prior to July 1st to replace the operating panel. She kept saying I would have to pay a delivery or pick up the door at the store and I replied I would pick it up. After this she sends me another email stating she spoke with someone and they could just send me the handle. It was supposed to be shipped by the July 17th 2025. I replied to her email that I haven't received it. I get sent a link to sign up with FedEx. No tracking and I didn't receive a handle, yet. It's now July 25th 2025. I'm disgusted and I don't know what to do. I complained to customer care whom sent my complaint to the wrong store. It's sad because Home Depot is losing my business. Maybe not completely but on special orders or large orders. I'm Small business man and I try to do my best to please my customers. I installed this door for my wheel chair bound customer so it would be convenient for her to get out into he backyard oasis. Two weeks ago I started work in her living room. I said to her the handle was being shipped and I could install it while I was there. I complete the work and no handle. The emails were a complete run around. Right up to the last email explaining to hire a professional installer. How disrespectful! I expect companies to have a word. I have a word. I completed several jobs since this installation and most materials came from other suppliers and I had absolutely no problem.

There’s always an issue when I go to this location. And today was no different. I’ve tried and tried to give it a chance because it’s my neighborhood store and I would hate for it to go out of business there be one less business out here. Sometimes I would drive to a store well out of the way to not deal with the possibility of something being a problem. Well this time just sealed the deal. The staff doesn’t care, so why should I? I do not plan on returning. I tried

If you're delivering here, they are INCREDIBLY disorganized. Gotta wait til they unload, very slowly, these local flatbed trucks to be able to get to the dock

UPDATE: Seems they wised up by reinstalling self checkout since my last review. But still have a problem with items ringing up for more than the displayed shelf price. Then to add an extra twist to the inconvenience they've turned store credits into an ORDEAL. My wife had given me one she was given when I went today to buy $65 worth of merchandise. After being prompted to scan the card I was next prompted to enter a pin which was revealed after a scratch off. But that wasn't the end of it. I was next asked to scan my personal driver's license which was rejected. So one of their workers came over to assist, and punched a few buttons. But then the display said there was a zero balance on the store credit. Which was asinine seeing as how I had to scratch off the card to reveal the PIN. No telling how much I was SWINDLED out of, but I left the items in the basket and walked the heck out. Spent less for essentially the same stuff at Walmart anyway. The worker was "sorry", he said. SO, Word to the wise: Don't let them try to stick you with a store credit. ORIGINAL REVIEW (one year ago): I can understand why this HD decided to inconvenience their *paying customers by removing all the self checkout registers. The same reason, no doubt, why Walmart did likewise and NO Hamburgers and Seafood and Big Lots closed shop. I get it. What ticks me though is picking up a product with a posted price of $6 on the aisle (and btw, ONLINE), and having it ring up at almost $20 at the register. Then the cashier says she'll take $10 off as a customer courtesy, which still isn't the advertised price. So I left it. What's more, she reveals this price mismatch is common occurrence there, complaining that the customers get mad at the cashiers for it. Which causes me to wonder who's ripping off who now?

You would expect better customer service since it’s the only place to go in the east. Customer service is below standard. I see employees hiding, some just look at you, and they hardly smile. The 10 foot rule is obsolete. I’ve been shopping there for 15 years. If have to ask anyone for anything, I just go to the chalmette location. Everyone says hello whether you need help or not with a smile.
