We had an unbelievably negative experience with Clutter. A set of three movers came to our apartment from 9 AM to 5 PM. During that full 8-hour day, they moved incredibly slowly, spending most of the time wrapping small items in bubble wrap and packing boxes. At 4:49 PM, shortly after their hour long Shake Shack break, they discovered they’d depleted the bubble wrap and then announced it was time to "go home" at 5 PM—without finishing the job. Not only did they leave us mid-move, but they also left our apartment completely full of our largest and heaviest pieces of furniture, which we reasonably expected would have been prioritized first. Instead, we were left with a half-finished move, additional stress, and no way to complete our relocation as planned. Because of the situation Clutter put us in, we were forced to squat on the floor of our apartment for three nights after our lease was up, causing us to miss our flight for our out-of-state move, take additional days off work, and pay unexpected extra rent for an apartment we should have vacated at the end of the month. During those nights, we were stuck living in uncomfortable conditions with nothing but large furniture and without access to basic necessities like toiletries. We are on night two of being stranded in these conditions, and I will be forced to stay a third night because Clutter is continuing to DEprioritize us, only agreeing to return 72 hours after abandoning the job during the first unsuccessful move attempt. This was unprofessional, negligent, and extremely damaging to us financially and personally. We strongly caution anyone considering Clutter to look elsewhere.
Clutter is a horrible company, the movers stole property destroyed property left property behind. Damaged my apartment and building. The customer service is in India who do nothing if you ask ant your belongings stolen damaged and destroyed you should use clutter if you want to call there US based phone numbers and end up routed to India use Clutter. If you want to have your property held hostage use clutter. In short DO NOT ISE THIS COMPANY IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICE
DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!! I had a reservation for 7/16/25. I was initially quoted 1 price and I agreed. Late night 7/13/25 I was emailed a significantly higher amount. I never agreed to THAT amount called first thing in the morning 7/14/25 to cancel. They helped themselves to $100 out of my checking account (BIG MISTAKE). Claiming a late fee saying they didn't have enough notice. I was told I had 2 days to cancel without being penalized. If you use them (I pray you don't), NEVER use a DEBIT card. These people (?) got $100 for doing absolutely positively NOTHING!
This is the worse. I requested items from my boxes on storage then return the same boxes back. The system automati upgraded me to a bigger storage, charge me a late fee. I called customer services and I could t I understand the agent. I escalate mynissue to a manager and still they were no able to help me. I had to file a claim and the system kept charging me fees. It hard to g see t people on the phone and when you do they do you cant understand them.
I've been using Clutter for several years to store seasonal items (heavy coats in the summer, window A/C in the winter) and have always appreciated the convenience. Living in Brooklyn means I have limited closet space and without a car, self-storage options aren't very convenient. The day before your appointment, Clutter shares an estimated arrival window. On the day-of, you'll receive a text that allows you to track the truck in real-time, which is helpful if you're planning your day around it. It's also a paperless process with consent forms and agreements sent via text which keeps things moving. I always pack up my own items and have had no issues with storage. The movers are always polite, a pleasure to work with, and are in and out of my place in a flash. If you're looking to store items year-round, and can benefit from the convenience of their pickup and drop-off services, I think this is a great option.
DO NOT HIRE THEM! THEY HAVE BAD REVIEWS FOR A REASON! I hired Clutter for their moving and storage services at the recommendation of my friend, who had a good experience. I read their awful reviews prior, but figured all moving companies have bad reviews and I'll take my friend's word for it. I wish that I had not done so. PLEASE head this warning -- the company overall is a nightmare to work with. They 'lost' nearly half of my stuff. Stuff that was incredibly valuable and precious. They will not speak to you on the phone, they are not transparent about how they handle and store your stuff, they are not transparent about any of their processes. If they do not fulfill their end if the contract you have with them and something happens to your stuff, they decide what they are and aren't liable for and will offer you $1 per pound on anything you've put into a box, so the max per box would be $50. They've essentially stolen my items and are offering what feels like pennies on the dollar to 'make up for it'. I have no idea what's happened to it. It could have been delivered to a random person, or left on the side of the road. Who knows. The people who moved my items were friendly enough, but overall truly a slimy corporation.
Sherrod and Emmanuel didn’t come to play around!!! They communicated very well and was able to strategize with me in order to effectively get as many things stored efficiently. I love how they carefully wrapped my furniture and collected my quick thinking plastic bags of storage. They came in handy when no one would help my son and I move. Thank you so much for your pleasant energy the entire appointment.
