Camping World RV Sales

They have a good variety of RV’s to choose from both new and used. They also have a lot of different items that you can buy in their lounge area and I’m told they have a great service department. The only personal observation I can really make is that they are a bit pushy on the sales side. My wife and I went in to get some education on the different types of trailers and their floor plans. We had no intentions of buying, but were constantly pushed on buying something that day.

Large place and you can become overwhelmed easily. Thankfully they have a great deal of patience and also a great deal of options. They worked us through until we found the perfect fit for us. We love our new camper!

Not one to write a review unless over the top negative experience. Took unit in for purchase inspection- confirmed appointment for 9am. Arrived Early. Now was not assisted until 9:40 someone ahead of us. Why make two appointments at the same time if you cannot handle it. The email in the appointment said it would take 2 hours, then they said 5 hours. I asked the guy to please just let me know when I can pick it back up same day- since it’s already a runaround. It actually told me he does not know when it would be done. Right away the location blames the scheduling on corporate. Anyway when I went to pick up my unit they damaged it. They lifted the front so high with the forklift that the bumper mounted rear spare tire hit the ground and not only tore the tire cover, but it was hard enough that they actually bent the spare tire mounting bracket. I dropped it off with everything locked- they unlocked everything and could not even relock after inspecting that would have just been common courtesy. If you bring your unit there make sure you check everything. At this point I feel that the negative reviews are very truthful. Don’t do it, do not go. They was even another older couple there saying the that no one gives them updates and the representatives again blamed it on corporate. Appears to very a severe lack of communication and care for customer expectations. The piece that is bent like a (V) should be straight in the photo.

⭐ 1 Star Absolutely terrible experience at Camping World in Newport News. We were told we could return an $800 mini bike if it didn’t work properly. As soon as we opened it, it was slow and not functioning right. We drove an hour back to return it, only to be told we couldn’t because it was "used." That’s a straight-up lie after what we were promised. Wasted our time and money. Don’t trust what they say—avoid this place at all

I would like to say that William from the service department was extremely helpful. He was able to get some things fixed or on order before we even walked out the door with no trouble at all. He was very thorough when giving us our walk around and knew every part that we wanted addressed and showed us. Dennis was helpful in getting us into the right camper that met all the needs of the family. Jake was eager to help to make sure we were set up correctly. Jennifer in service was wonderful and helped us talk with the amazing woman in parts that got our order for our awning situated. Chandler was straightforward in getting us the deal we were looking for. Made it easy to do everything in one place.

We had a wonderful experience at Camping World in Newport News. As newcomers to the RV lifestyle, we arrived with plenty of questions, and John Marshall, our sales representative—was incredibly helpful. He was patient, knowledgeable, and took the time to guide us through everything without ever making us feel pressured. We explained that we were in the early stages of our search and wanted to take our time with such a significant purchase. John was very understanding and respectful of our process. He followed up promptly with the information he promised, along with some helpful additional details about the camper we’re considering. We truly appreciate his professionalism and look forward to returning to complete our purchase.

We had a very disappointing experience at this location. We were prepared to purchase a used fifth wheel and had a conversation with the finance manager, Gavin, where we clearly stated the maximum amount we were willing to pay. At the time, it seemed he agreed to our terms. However, when reviewing the buyer’s order, the numbers didn’t match what we had discussed. When my husband questioned the discrepancy, he was told, "that’s just how the computer system shows it" and was assured the final numbers would reflect our agreement. My husband then hand wrote the agreed upon amount and the paperwork was signed. While exploring other financing options, we were informed that the buyer’s order was actually incorrect. We attempted to follow up with the dealership but were told we needed to speak directly with Gavin. When we were finally able to get him on the phone and tried to clarify the situation, he became very defensive, accused us of calling him a liar, and abruptly hung up. When we called back, we were told he had "just stepped out." The lack of transparency, miscommunication, and unprofessional behavior we experienced were incredibly frustrating. We would not recommend this dealership based on how we were treated.
