1st time customer. I needed new bunks on the trailer, as well as having the raised a couple inches. Boat was still still on the trailer. The "you must leave it here for an estimate" seemed odd, but ok. Not like getting my car worked on. Estimate for the trailer work was no charge. What I did not expect, but was pleasantly surprised by, is not only did they check over the trailer, they also did a comprehensive inspection on the boat - Also no charge. Dropped the trailer and boat on a Saturday. Got the call with a price about 4 hours into the next work day. Work on both the trailer and boat was completed on the promised time frame at the estimated price. Also to my surprise, I recieved a couple of calls along the way to provide status. Seems to be high quality work. No complaints at all. Be aware they do add 3% for credit card vs cash, debit or check. Staff is very friendly and courteous, from the person that moved boats around the facility to the service advisors. In short, I’m a very happy customer !

Brandon from the service department does a great job of keeping you informed on the status of your boat/trailer and recommended services. The mechanics are very knowledgeable about a vast array of boats and motors. This is my second year working with them and the work is great and they get you in and out in a quick and efficient manner.

Our experience at Sports Marine was great! We dealt with Brandon most of the time and he was so kind, informative and easy to deal with. Brandon’s Customer service was excellent. We will definitely be returning to Sports Marine for all our boating needs.

If six stars was an option, then Sports Marine in Newport News would get it. My wife and I were on a 500-mile boat passage, and our outboard engine died. Not being able to go ashore, we urgently needed a solution, and had the great fortune to meet Rob Miner at Sports Marine. He immediately swung into action by finding us a new outboard, arranging an overnight stay for us at a local dock, personally bringing the engine to our boat, making sure that it started up, and sending us happily on our way... on his Sunday off! On reflection, make my rating seven out of seven stars!

Unfortunately, the service I needed to get done did not happen due to not having enough technicians to meet demand. I ended up picking up the boat not repaired. I ordered the tools I needed and completed pressure test on LU myself. It is a simple process with the correct tools. They had everything I needed for me to affect repairs. I can't fault them not having enough techs to meet demand. All repair shops this time of year is the same way.

Brandon took care of everything and addressed my concerns. They even fixed my anchor light that came loose from its holder free of charge. Did my 100 hour service and winterization. Great communication on every step of the way. Highly recommend them.

I come in to buy Suzuki oil and parts for annual maintenance. They are super friendly and helpful and always have what i need in stock to keep my outboard motor running great.
