I had a very troubling experience at the Oakland AutoZone that I want to share. I originally went in for a simple return or exchange on a defective jumper I bought from their store, but the staff was not only unprofessional, the manager was openly rude and dismissive. She refused to handle the return and even made inappropriate, racially charged remarks that were completely unacceptable. Beyond that, the environment in that store felt shady and uncomfortable. I’ve heard others mention issues about this location, and now I’ve seen it firsthand. It felt like they were more interested in making excuses and creating obstacles than actually helping a customer with a valid concern. In the end, I had to go to the Berkeley AutoZone to get my refund without any trouble at all. I really hope the company looks into the practices at the Oakland store, because no customer should have to go through that just to return a faulty product.

I just replaced my auxiliary battery today and found out the old one was already 6 years old—I had no idea! The staff here were super helpful, and I especially want to thank the big, muscular guy who really saved my day. He went above and beyond, even using his own tools to help me install the new battery. I’m really happy with the service and grateful for the kindness and support. Highly recommend!

What a pleasant experience at auto zone on 27th Street in Oakland. Julia C. is a breath of fresh air. Hella cool and helpful. I’m a tad bit overwhelmed today and her customer service is exactly what I needed. And the security guard Otis, God bless you brother. Security officer that does his job and still showing respect. Ur forced to reciprocate that respect or ur an idiot. I’ll come back just to interact with these two while doing my shopping. Have a great one.

Got a universal dipstick it was fast and easy to get and the employees were super friendly and helpful so I’m definitely coming back asap

Closed at 11AM on Sunday without posting it anywhere, wasted time and money getting over here.

Amazing customer service. The car battery I needed wasn't in stock, but they found an AutoZone location nearby that had it and printed out the name of the exact battery I needed. They even jump started my car in the pouring rain so I could make it to the other location. I will never forget that friendly service--and it was provided even though I did not buy anything!

These guys are super helpful. Auto Zone in general is helpful. I really appreciate the location on 27th…it’s a life saver Wish I had more photos of the store itself…instead, they had new rotors for my van readily available do I took a pic of my most recent job
