Ava Community Energy

This company is a scam. I moved out of Berkeley to Ohio in 2023 April. I paid all my dues and thought everything is over. By Aug 2025, i received a text message from a debt collector saying that I owe $167 to some unknow company called Ava. I was shocked and called the debt collector and they said this shady company is part of pge. I called Pge and asked about this bill. PGE mentioned I don't owe them any money and in fact they owe me the same exact amount the debt collector has mentioned. Since i changed my address the check sent by PGE did not reach me and they sent me a new check to the current address in Ohio. Since then, i' m trying to reach out to these scammers to understand why i owe them any money and what gave them the right to enroll me without my permission. Also, if there is some miscommunication between pge and ava, why is my name sent to a debt collector? Why did I not receive any communication regarding this from Ava? Someone should sue this company. What is this confusion again? Why PGE is paying me $167 and I should cash it and pay the exact same amount to Ava? Why can’t they deal with it themselves? No wonder people are moving from this cursed state. Ava should be sued for the mental torture they are putting people through.

I’m having serious issues with a company called AVA. I’ve never signed up for anything with them, but they’ve put me in collections for an amount I don’t recognize. When I call, they refuse to provide any statement or balance and treat customers poorly. Their collection agency is also very rude. I need the company to remove me from any type of collections.

A hard pass! I opted out six months ago and they still merged me with Ava energy. I called to opt out as this service is another division of (Pge). They indicate it is not but you have to ask yourself why would you pay your bill via (Pge) for Ava Energy portion. I had to opt out yet again with their fine print indicating they would do so in two billing cycle. My bill was the exact same amount as (PGE) why would I want numerous selections on energy? Just provide the necessary electricity a waste of time and energy.

I have had a few months now n my bills have been higher than before. Even mixing the true up bill into each month, has been higher. Two months before, I had no bill n now it’s been 112 n 215 n I’ve turned all off because I wasn’t even home part by if that time.

Ok so after a phone call I understand that my PG&E bill would of been $15 more. If I did not have AVA. At first all of this was so confusing. Because it shows PG&E bill then AVA billing. I did honestly get mad at first was going to cancel but then decided to keep AVA on I have edited my review for this making the 3rd time. The AVA staff said AVA rated are a locked set rate, do not go up like PG&E does to so. It's all still mixed feelings. But I'm going to give it a shot. I'm leaving a 3 star review because I mind keeps going back and forth.

I would like think Shuge and Hector for there helpful information and answering some of my questions at the San Joaquin asparagus festival in Stockton. As we will become new customers to AVA Energy. In Stockton CA looking forward to saving 5% on our bill and know that we are using renewable energy. Thank you Shuge and Hector for your time...

Bill for 1 month is $456 smh! Hard pass! Will be opting out tomorrow! Never in my life have I had a $456 energy bill smh!
