Garden Center at The Home Depot

Love there garden center big variety but don't ask for help you seldom find it

This is a rather large store with a good selection. The staff are actually somewhat helpful at this location. They do a good job with security and i have not heard of problems with vehicle break-ins or panhandlers. They have a decent selection of rental equipment and a large garden department.

Well stocked from what i can tell, i am not much of gardener though... which leads to the big issue. Even though morale at this home depot is much better than in the past, much of the staff have no idea what things are and how to use them. I kind of regret going today. For an extra $10 i could have had help that actually know about thier product. In the future, if something is outside of my expertise I will go elsewhere.

They have beautiful orchids for $10.99... $ 17.99 $26.99 they have other nice plants as well... The plant lights are lock up, so you have to find someone to open the combination lock , in order to get the lighting you will need..

Crowded, you might get your car broken into in the parking lot (broken glass everywhere, just take a look at the ground), and they are one step away from frisking everyone that leaves the store. Great taco truck on the street outside though.

Approached three different employees during my visit and all were very helpful. The store manager gave me a free Christmas tree on on the 23rd right as they were about to chop them up!

Good staff and nice place to shop. Oakland is a scary place but I am always comfortable here. I like the garden selection because it fits the Alameda micro climate.
