Oakland Harley-Davidson

I'm rating a 2 instead of a 1 because the service desk tech did his best to get the Head Service Tech Mechanic to speak with me, but after a few unsuccessful attempts I gave up. This occurred around lunch time on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 I had taken my 2006 Softail Deluxe out for the 2nd time this year. About 2 miles into the ride, it felt like the transmission was slipping - even though the bike only has 22,000 miles. I had to get it towed home and considered taking it to Harley in Oakland, but it was too late in the day. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that the pulley belt bolts had sheared off. The tech mentioned this is a common issue and had recently experienced it on his own bike. I took pictures of the misalignment of the back Axle. The left side looked fine (as shown in the picture), but the right side was off by about 1/2 inch, and the adjusting bolt wasn't in its proper slot (as you can see in the picture). I've been taking my Bike there for service since they use to be in Fremont and followed them to Oakland. Unfortunately, the service tech couldn't look far enough back in their records to determine when the rear tire was last removed. As years have past I only ride maybe 3 times a year so this happen later than sooner? This post could have been avoided if someone had taken the time to speak with me & ensured that technicians were property informed about the work being done in the service department.

Spoke with Kim - absolute gentleman. Was a pleasure to deal with . Had me scheduled in the next morning -for an overview of a bike I recently purchased . ( not from this store - a private dealer.) took his time and listened . delighted with the response from this man. Thanks a million! Great service !

My experience at Oakland H-D was fantastic. Danny Pacheco was the salesman that helped me purchase my Lowrider ST, and he was extremely helpful and friendly during the entire process. Purchased cruise control for my 2018 Breakout and they installed. I was waiting for three hours and received text message. Bike is tested and all is good. I went back to shop to pick it up and then: 1) When I picked up, even though they stated they tested, light was not working and tank was damaged. Store manager apologized however, no loaner, they will do their best could fix by memorial weekend as I was planning for long trip. 2) Yes, they sent me note next day can't fix it by memorial weekend and no loaner. 3) Week after Memorial weekend, receiving text that repair is not done. Memorial Day delayed the shipping of the trim. Just adding cruise control not just ruined Memorial weekend, but two weeks+. Never again dealer shop to install/repair anything.

Fanatic Experience with the team at the dealership. Very Pleasant and Helpful. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a new Harley.
