U-Haul Moving & Storage of Alafaya

This was my second — and worst — experience. What’s the point of scheduling an appointment if: 1. You still have to redo everything in person that you already did online, and 2. The car I booked wasn’t even there. Instead, they switched my pickup location without notifying me. So why bother doing everything ahead of time if I’m just going to waste another 30 minutes repeating the same steps? On top of that, the customer service was awful, and somehow they don’t even accept Apple Pay. It’s 2024.5 — how do you not have Apple Pay? Never again. I’ll just get my own truck next time.

I stopped by to look at the trailers in person, and everyone was super friendly and accommodating. The first guy I spoke to was funny and sweet. It wasn't a problem for them to show my every size they had. The inside, lot, and equipment was very clean which is always a plus. I'm definitely coming back when it's my time to move.

Great people are always on their game and very friendly and knowledgeable and they listen to each and every customer that they have in front of them. I would definitely recommend this location and the people who are working there too. Quick and easy process begins as soon as you open the door.

The customer service at the alafaya center is outstanding, my 15ft truck was immaculate clean when I picked it up and I returned it in the same condition. Tracy my CSR was awesome her product knowledge, ability to process pickup & return seamlessly was to me the most impressive service I've experienced with UHaul ever. Thank you again.

Bri, and Orlando we're absolute professional and so kind to me and my son when we dropped off the truck. I had such a tough time traveling and they were super patient and so understanding and put my heart at ease. Thank you to them both!!!!

The actual truck was great! This is why I gave 2* and not 1*. It ran, didn't break down, AND was the truck I reserved. Yay! I reserved a larger 15' truck ONLY because I need the ramp for a couple of appliances that I was moving. Additionally I reserved an Appliance Dolly so that I can easily move the refrigerator and stove/oven. When I get to the UHaul Alafaya on Colonial Drive, I am informed AFTER I completed the rental paperwork that they do not have any Appliance Dollies.... That is the who reason I rented the larger truck, it is just me - I can not pick up a Refrigerator and Stove, throw it over my shoulder and put them in a truck by hand. The employee informed me that you can not reserve these, they are First-come First-served. I replied with the fact that when I made the reservation online, I did RESERVE the Appliance Dolly - UHaul online ASKED me if I wanted to rent it, I confirmed by checking the "1" button under Appliance Dolly, and completed the reservation. (Pic attached) The Manager and the Assistant Manager than told me that (check this out) once you RESERVE it online, it will be First-Come First-Served when you get there. So I really tried to explain the difference between Reservation and First-Come First -Served. Assistant Manager: [In Snarky Tone] "You are not understanding me when I am telling you how it works." She was right, I didn't understand because what she said DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. Please see Reservation pic that even states: "ANY SELECTED ITEMS WILL BE WITH YOUR EQUIPMENT AT THE TIME OF PICKUP!" So, I get truck and was informed to go to another location to pick up Appliance Dolly. When I check in, and get my bill, it was $24 more than it should have been (for just a one day rental). I was very promptly told what my starting mileage was. WHICH WAS INCORRECT. How did I know... I took a picture! Time/Date Stamped (7 minutes after my rental began), with GeoLocation tagged (pic location UHaul Alafaya - Colonial Drive Orlando). That mistake was going to cost me another $24. How many others just paid it without confirming. Anyways, other than all of that it was a great experience! UHaul is always easy on reliable, just it wasn't at this location on this day. ________________________ AND now I will wait to see their response on how "Making a Reservation" and "First-Come First Served" are the same according to UHaul policy.

Being new to the U.S., I had to rent a U-Haul van three times in the past two months for moving and buying furniture. Their customer service was consistently excellent. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Renting a van was affordable, and the U-Haul Moving & Storage of Alafaya location was very convenient. The facility is spacious, with plenty of vans available, which is probably why I was able to book one on the same day I needed it. Keep up the great work! I look forward to renting from this location again.
