REI

TL;DR: REI is a clean, well-organized store with amazing staff. Courtney and Sophia made finding the perfect hiking boots quick and easy—highly recommend! Stopped by REI while passing through town to find some hiking boots and had an awesome experience. Courtney guided me to the shoe area, and Sophia was incredibly helpful in explaining everything and helping me find the perfect pair. I was in and out with new boots in under 30 minutes! The store is clean, well-laid-out, and the staff is superb. I don’t live nearby, but if I did, I’d shop here all the time. Highly recommend.

Rei didn't have the exact shoe I was looki.g for in store. The staff offered a substitute that I really liked. I joined the coop for a one time fee, and got out the door cheaper than expected. They offer returns for up to a year with receipt on gently used items if you are a member. As well as coupons and discounts. Its a great outdoor men/women shop.

I ordered a bike online and had REI bike shop unbox and set it up with tubeless tires and a pair of clip pedals that I bought from them. Their bike shop did not tape the rear wheel rim properly so the rear tire constantly goes flat. Even worse, they either cross-threaded the pedals, didn't use grease when installing the pedals, or probably both, so now I have to replace my crank arms because I can't change out the pedals. This is very BASIC stuff and they completely screwed it up, and it's going to cost me quite a bit of money to fix. I'm never bringing another bike of mine to them again.

I went to the three day grand opening and had a blast. I brought my dog for the morning openings as well. I love how big this store is and how many options they have. I’ve since been back multiple times. Tallahassee needed an REI and I’m stoked we have it! The layout is easy to navigate. Backpacks and canoes in the middle. Everything camping on the right. Everything bikes on the left side. Then in the back….Women’s clothes back right. Men’s clothes back left. There are changing rooms as well. Shoes on the back wall (I was eyeing the new brooks shoes!). The parking lot is huge! Plenty of parking spots. It was slammed for the grand opening and Christmas shopping but on normal days I haven’t had an issues parking up close. There is a north side parking lot and a west side parking lot. Both feed into near by shopping plaza parking spots as well.

No greeting, no help…like I was invisible, or unwanted. Don’t be stuck up. I could buy the store out. Just relax. It’s Tallahassee not Aspen.

We thought we would check out the new store. Hubbie wanted golf clubs but it's not that kind of store. It is well layed out. I love Patagonia and North Face. Sadly we are not hikers, kayakers or mountain climbers. They do have cute dog stuff. The prices seemed pretty high.
