I am a senior citizen. Through YWCA, I made an appointment with one of your associates named Michelle Gonzalez on November 5th in the afternoon. She met me and did not even introduce herself to me or give me her business card. She took me to the office. I was confused as she did not introduce herself wondering who she was, a paralegal or an assistant. I felt like she was not present. Then she started taking all my information including my social security, my income, & my date of birth. She asked me what my race is. I did not feel comfortable answering the questions and very politely asked her if I may skip it. She was eager to fill up her form. I ended up providing her with the information except for the race question and she wrote it down. She listened to me, then told me she could not read my file but recommended to go to another attorney. I was unhappy that I did not get any help to resolve my issue. I also signed her form. On November 10th, while I was on my way to my doctor's appointment she called me. She told me I refused to give her all information that day so she had to call me to complete a form for her company. But please notice I did end up providing her with information including my social security on 11/5 (except for race). She asked me for my date of birth. I told her she already wrote it down the other day . She added she did not write it so to tell her my age. So I did . My point is I did not get any help and did not receive good customer service but she was very concerned to fill up her form I am writing to you to let you know this kind of service is being provided to your vulnerable community.

This firm was recommended from Stay Housed LA to assist me as a low income disabled person with an eviction notice. I called that office probably 50 times and left voicemails to set up an intake. Never heard back. Eventually as the clock was running out I decided to go to their staff page to see who was an intake coordinator or an administrative assistant. I called and used the dial by name directory calling everyone and leaving voicemails. I finally received a call back from 1 intake coordinator out of the 50+ calls/voicemails. I shouldn't have had to do all of that to get an appointment. I already know I'm going to have to stay on top of this so that it doesn't fall by the wayside.

I would be so happy to update this review and give 5 stars! I had called and left a message about a week ago. No return call. I went in person yesterday, and was told no one comes in. They all work from home. Its a tax resolution issue. I wanted to find if they do resolve these past tax issues to reduce any fines, fees if any as never received notice. The receptionist had no flyers or materials to give. She gave me a case # the name of the woman attorney who would be calling me. I asked if she called to please leave a number I could return the call as I am a substitute teacher and cannot answer my call in class. My request was noted. I see a call from Bet Tzedek on my cell, no message. No idea as no message. I pray I will get a call from attorney, Sarah B. I really would like to give a very good review. And I will happily replace this review.

A woman just called back and gave me insight on general processes that will come up in a case for my family. She did NOT give advice but did answer general questions. She was very friendly and helpful. I am grateful this service exists.

I left several messages on the general voicemail. I never received a returned call. I was able to track down an email from the President & CEO of the company (Diego Cartagena). He told me he would forward my message to Bertha. She never got in touch with me so I informed Diego and he said he would forward my email to Michael. Guess what he hasn't gotten back with me. This company isn't worth your time.

They took five weeks to return a call at an unlikely hour to only leave a generic reply message with no point of contact to contact, even went to the office just to be told i would be contacted by someone in a week, ultimately resulting in an eviction. I'm now one of many thousand experiencing the heart-wrenching effects of homelessness.

I called this alleged helpful Firm. I left a message about myproblem. I was never received a call back. So I missed time limit to file a claim. I was told this Business only helps it's own people. It appears to be correct. Vera Saucedo
