I recently moved to South Florida, and my house was in need of insulation. I called Scott and he set me up with a fair price right over the phone for the radiant barrier and insulation and had me scheduled for the next day. His installers were thorough and what they did was really a game changer for my house. My house is cooler, more comfortable and definitely less humidity. I noticed my ac runs half the time now. The crew was friendly and they cleaned up after themselves. Highly recommend this!
Scott, Ryan, and team were great. Easy to get info from and communication was on time and clear. Did the main attic with radiant barrier and blown in insulation. Also paired that with a new AC unit and the house has never been more evenly cooled than it is now. I am eager to see the improvement on the electric bills as well! Thanks!
I called Scott from Cut My Kilowatts for help in my house when some rooms were very hot and some were very cold, install the radiant barrier and add attic insulation. The crew that came out were on time and extremely nice and professional. They did the work and cleaned up when they finished. I noticed that my a/c isn't running as much, thus saving on my electric bill, and my house feels cool and balanced throughout the house. Scott was able to quote me on the phone and was fair on the price. When the crew was actually at the house they noticed that some work that we thought needed to be done I didn't need. They were honest about it and where they still could have done it, they didn't, and my actual payment to them was less than the original quote. I found them honest, professional, knowledgeable, prompt and extremely nice and easy to deal with.
My AC unit was constantly running but unable to keep my house any cooler than 78 degrees during the day. Finding a company in the area that was willing to provide a free estimate proved challenging, as most said they could not quote the price until they came and inspected the site, but was subject to a fee if I opted not to go with them. I just happened to stumble on an ad in a flyer I was about to throw away, and a quick google search showed very positive reviews. I figured I had nothing to lose, so I called Scott (owner) and explained my dilemma. Using my address, he was able to give me an honest and direct quote over the phone by using my property info off of the Broward County Property Appraiser website. He explained all the available options in detail, which included inspecting my ducting for any leaks or tears and was quoted a price for possible repairs as deemed necessary. I opted to go for R30 insulation as well as radiant barrier installation to maximize my insulation potential. Our window of installation was very limited due to our work schedules, and he was able to accommodate me without hesitation. When the workers arrived they explained the process in detail, to begin with inspection of the AC ducting. Turns out my ducting was in excellent condition, but there was one link which had become partially disconnected (presumably by the previous person who was up there to route electrical wiring, accidentally I'm sure) and was leaking conditioned air into the crawl space. He came down to show me photos of the ducting and obtain authorization prior to performing any repairs to be sure I knew what was being done. After said repair was done, the insulation was applied and the barrier was installed. I can really feel the difference in how much air is cranking out now, my home now maintains a cool 72 degrees even on the hottest days and the AC is actually turning off now! Scott was very honest and professional from beginning to end, and gave me the most affordable options with absolutely no hidden costs or unnecessary work proposals. I highly recommend Cut My Kilowatts for any insulation or ducting work you may be looking to have performed, you will not be disappointed!
Great job. Came next day workers were prompt and courteous. As an added bonus we now get cool water since our water line run thru the attic. Cleaned up the small mess they made. 5 stars. Highly recommended
The owner Scott is very straight forward and knowledgeable. He doesn't try to sell you something you don't need. He pulls up your home on the property appraiser site and quotes off of exact square footage and their pricing is good. We actually chose to do both the radiant barrier and blown in insulation. The guys came on time and were very friendly. They did an excellent job! After they had left we realized there was a mix up and they forgot to do a certain area. We contacted Scott and he had the guys out to correct it the next day. They wanted us to look and make sure we were completely satisfied.
I recently contacted the owner Scott about issues I was having in my home (several rooms upstairs were so hot all the time, and my electric bills were super high!) He generously spent a good amount of time discussing my options for fixing the situation. One thing his crew did was they put up a radiant barrier (looks like foil space material!) inside the walls of the attic, and inside the crawl space in my garage. Then blew in new fluffy insulation to both spaces. The very next day I noticed a difference in the temperature of my home. I keep turning the AC higher because I’m cold! One of the biggest changes was my daughter’s room which is directly over the garage. Used to be the hottest room in the house. With the barrier and insulation both above and below her room, she’s now wearing a sweatshirt sitting in there! The crew was professional, courteous and good about sweeping up after themselves. For what I’ve got, I think it was well worth the money. And I know that if I ever have any issues, Scott would make it right. He is a trustworthy guy who owns the business and takes pride in making sure the job is done right. I highly recommend this company.
