If I could give negative stars, I would. My electric bill went up, the solar panels on my home do not work, we cannot get ahold of the company, we have filed 2 complaints with the BBB, called our attorney General to no avail, and come to find out that the company did not acquire the permits to even install the system. They didn't install them until 6 months after we signed the contract that was supposed to lower my electric bill by 85% or they were going to install more at no additional cost. So now, I currently pay an increased electric bill and a solar panel payment. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We are contacting an attorney. Again, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Our panels were installed November 2022, they still are not working. I've spoken to them several times and they always tell me they'll figure out what it is, but here we are with no response and have not saved any money. Not only that, but they damaged my roof installing them and patched the hole they caused but never fixed the damage. I've left a negative review on BBB, called several times, left messages, tried everything I can. This is such a scam and I wish we'd never used them.

Design 1 sold our Solar System in2020. We had multiple issues getting the system installed and WORKING. Included in this installation we replaced our water heaters with new Solar/Electric water heaters for more efficiency. The installation occurred in July 2020 we finally got the system functioning and producing in Nov 2020, after many calls and service attempts. We've called several times due to issues which has taken months for response, if any at all. March 2023 our main water heater stopped working. We contacted Design 1 and opened a ticket. We called continuously every day for several days WITHOUT ever getting a response. We actually had to "reset" our water heater ourselves after doing a lot of research and speaking with other solar system installers. April 30, 2023 we lost power due to a power pole issue during the day, the solar power flickered but NEVER came on. We contacted the company details provided on the solar equipment to discover the "electrician" number was disconnect. We contacted Design 1 to get assistance, still no calls or contact. We discovered on May 8, 2023 the system wasn't working at all and all lights were off. We made contact again on May 9, 2023 to have someone come out to RESET the system, due to it is now not working at all. We were told we already have an open ticket for scheduled service on June 2, 2023. The pending open ticket would have resulted in being without ANY hot water at all from March until June 2, 2023. I explained we are selling the home and needs these services completed by June 2, 2023 as this is the scheduled close date on the home. I also explained we were told the system was being monitored and we wouldn't need to make them aware of outages, however it most likely hadn't worked since the issues the week prior. The system hasn't properly functioned since it was installed. The promised monitoring hasn't taken place, their app cannot even contact at all to the system for us to even monitor at home since January (different ticket reported). The savings explained has NEVER come from this installation. In addition we are now being told the system cannot even be "Inspected" to determine the issues until ON or AFTER our closing date.

Promised a functioning system well over a year ago. To date I’ve been paying since Feb 2022 having only received lightbulbs, thermostats I had to install myself, and mismatched panels added on every time we had to compromise for inability to get a battery, inability to provide the conservation package. Been waiting since Aug for "a paper to be signed" for interconnection to my electric. 230 a month for nothing but headaches, no money saved, no rebate checks, no tax deductions, and tied to a $90000 loan that can’t be canceled or stopped because they already have their money without finishing their contract. Too good to be true.

They do not pay their vendors!!! Do not do work for these people. They put a hole in their customers wall and hired my company Superior Drywall and Painting to fix it. We scheduled the project with the home owner, we fixed the hole and customer was thrilled. I have contacted them about the past due amount and they have still not paid. currently they are 160 days past due. Beware!!!

Do not use this company, nobody answers or returns calls, it took 7 months after our system was installed to get it commissioned and operating they said they scheduled it and were waiting for our utility company but I called my utility company and they stated nobody called them from Design one, the system got inspected but failed due to wires rubbing on the roof and they never installed the schematic, finally our utility company showed up for commission one day but the Design One rep did not show up, a month later they came out again and the rep did show up, got the system commissioned and it was producing, now we are three days in and it's not producing at all. And shocker I can't get ahold of anyone at Design one. Update:The system has been up and running for about 8 months now and it sucks, our power bill is not much better, we're still 80-90% grid dependent. Also they did not disclose to us that if the grid goes down our system also goes down, which is a big reason I wanted solar. I understand the reason is so you don't backfeed into the grid so that the linemen don't get zapped, but there should be some way to prevent that, such as a massive resistor or something. Wish we never bought this system, do make the same mistake we did, save your money, all we are doing is spending more than we were before.

signed a contract in August with payments starting in January. After many months without any communication and lack of response, we received and had our panels installed. Here we are, again, waiting on the next step. I’ve called, left messages, sent emails, commented on their Facebook page and still nothing. No one will update me on the process and quite frankly I’m to the point where I will be filing a lawsuit again Design 1. I urge you, do not use this company. They are friendly and feed you a bunch of lies when you’re signing up and then drop you from the face of the earth. This has been a total nightmare.
