The outages have been frequent and insane. I have a baby that I need to take care of. And I have automatic pay set up with my bank and I have 2 delinquent past charges due for the last 2 months when I have not had an issue since I moved in with the payments coming out of my account. I call and there's almost never an agent available.
I called Duke Energy Tuesday and 2 trucks came out, they waited 3 hours but no pole delivered. Duke said pole would be replaced this week. I called today, it won't be replaced till next week. Thunder storm predicted for this evening. It's across a one lane gravel street from my driveway. Duke Energy sucks!!!!
I Called today to switch my electric service for a local move (Belmont NC). The rep’s Indian accent was just too strong to understand. I felt bad but I had to ask to speak with someone else because I couldn’t understand the rep. She transferred me to a supervisor, and his accent was even worse. Finally I got someone who was more proficient in English. After establishing my new service, he tried to sell me a ring camera and then internet service. I said no to both but the rep was very pushy. If Duke is going to go off shore for customer service they need to raise the standard on their English proficiency requirements. Also, I assume the reps are incentivized pretty well on cross selling, but they need to stop hard-selling the customers because it’s very annoying.
It’s been 12 hours since our power has been out and first they said 2:30am then 4:00am and now 12:00pm hopefully it’s back on
My power has gone out many many times over the last year. Right in the city. At least 5 times for more than 24 hours. Me and 28 other people. The same people. How can they let this happen over and over????
If I could give -10 stars I would. I originally called on March 15 2022 to set up automatic payments. They told me it would take 3 billing cycles to set it up. We'll here we are in September and still no auto draft. I called in to try to speak to a supervisor & one wasn't available. The representative said I should re submit my request for auto drafting and wait another 2 billing cycles. I've never had so much of a hassle just to pay a bill. If I had another option for a service provider I would leave Duke energy in a heartbeat!
We installed all new appliances, heat pump water heater, etc. We used far fewer kilowatt hours than the same billing period last year but our bill went up $50!!!!...when I phoned, they told me Duke was granted a rate increase....last quarter they made $5.3 billion profit and the CEO, Lynn Good makes $21.35 million a year!!!!! Outrageous!!!!!
