My husband and I have had GP&L for 20 years now. No issues ever. Customer service great. Never have had and outage last over 2 hours max. We've had to call them a handful of times to ask for an extention when money was tight, also no problem. When he passed last year I had to put my name on the bill and the lady that helped me behind the desk was so kind. I broke down in tears and she kept asking if I was ok. Thank you GP&L for your service. God bless each and every one of you! -Norma Hill P.S The online payment option is amazing. $2 is quite low of a service fee to pay online and another great reason why I love GP&L. This is very convenient!

Paid my bill like normal last month, get the confirmation number and email, still shows in the website that I paid last month, but also says I have a past due bill of the exact same amount. Then my electricity gets shut off on a Friday right before they close, and they'reclosed all weekend. Have only lived here 4 months and this is the 2nd issue I've had with them. Don't ever live here if you have anyone that might be sensitive to the heat or cold, the city might just decide to euthanize them for you.

I literally had the worst experience of my life.They charged me a $230 deposit just to set up new service. Ran my credit and said i still didn’t qualify to have the fee waived and my score is a 722.. This utility company made me hate GARLAND as a whole. This is the only electric company you are allowed to have.. They force it on you.

Not So Fancy Queen (Queenie)

GP&L is the reason I moved from Garland and will never live there again. 1100$ for one months electricity in a 1200 sq ft house in the summer with the thermostat set at 74. They wouldn’t let me report a confirmation number for a payment cause they’d rather cut off the power and make me pay the reconnect fee. Greedy and incredibly shady and everyone I’ve ever spoken to that worked there was horrifically rude.

They don't care about their customers because they don't have to care about their customers. They are a monopoly and are a great example of why monopolies should be illegal. You have to deal with them because you can't deal with anyone else. There's a special place in a very hot place in the after life for each and everyone who works for that company.

the worst electricity service i’ve EVER HAD!!!!!!! my lights got disconnected yesterday due to me getting a new card , and i didn’t update it. so i called immediately to make a payment, paid in full, and was told to give it until 7pm and the lights should be on by then. It’s around 6:45(mind you i called to report the payment was made at about 10:30am) but the lights still aren’t on, so i call and it’s the after hours crew, letting me know that they don’t reconnect after business hours which is 5pm. i’m not sure why i was told 7, so i waited until 7, and nothing so i was left in the dark all night with my 2 young children , and the $500 i just spent on groceries, GONE! because of the horrible customer service. i wish i would of got names. If my apartments didn’t make us have this light company id be leaving so quick! no way i should have to wait 24 hours for a reconnection! they were all aware i have small children in here as well. no one cared! i advise if you don’t absolutely have too, DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE! literally worst customer service i’ve dealt with EVER! the representatives kept saying " well my hands are tied sorry " just very unprofessional.

Dude, I need to move into my new apartment but I can't because their website is terrible. I can't even Sign up for electricity it just gives me an error screen. I also can't call them because when I press "1" on the phone it says "No Transfer Number is Defined" over and over. Just steer clear of Garland. It wasn't this bad before dude but this is insane. I don't even know what to do. This complex only uses this garbage for some reason. I've tried on my phone and my PC and it gives me the same thing
